ShadowWalker56: Thanks! Bookmarked it!
One more thing. Are there any games similar to BG 1&2 that GOG has? What about the Witcher games?
P1na: Icewind dale looks very similar, but it's much more of a dungeon crawler and is quite lacking in comparison on the story department. You could try things like Pillars of Eternity or Serpent on the staglands, they look close but I haven't tried them. Planescape torment is awesome, but it's quite lacking on the combat area (not a problem for me, might be for you). Then there's the KOTOR games, it's in the Star Wars universe but essentially D&D rules as well. One more thing. Are there any games similar to BG 1&2 that GOG has? What about the Witcher games?
"similar to BG 1&2" is actually pretty vague, depends on what aspect of BG draws you in.

ShadowWalker56: Sounds cool. I'll have to give it a try. Any other games you can think of that are RPGs and worth playing?
The Witcher can please ANY gamer. Old school RPG fans will most probably find 1 more interesting. Console gamers and hack and slash/combat psychos will prefer 2, most probably. Last but not least, Elder Scrolls, open world/sandbox and free roam freaks, will like 3 the best. I personally loved each and every one of them, equally, because i see one complimenting the other (plus you can transfer the saved game from 1 to 2 to 3, carrying over decisions). You can check Arx Fatalis and Blade of Darkness -damn, Blade of Darkness actually got removed from the site. Arx Fatalis has a unique spellcasting system, a great character build and many features that have become signature gameplay elements in MMOs, such as fishing, cooking, potion making etc. Blade of Darkness is an exceptionally epic hack and slash, gory, epic game with great story (could make an epic movie or two), powerful enemies, amazing effects and visual techniques (for its time it had been a pioneer in fields like real time lighting effects and real time shadows etc), plus it boasts an epic soundtrack, too. You can't go wrong with either, both are classics!!!

I played Diablo 1&2 and am currently playing Diablo 3. I liked them but I wouldn't call them them RPGs. They are basically hack and slash with no real roleplaying I'd call them more adventure games or third person shooter. Give Diablo 2 or 3 a try and see what you think.

I did try diablo 2, boring. Awesome cutscenes though. I care not for diablo 3, starting from their DRM. I put a bunch of fairly distinct RPGs over there, feel free to check them out and play the ones that catch your fancy.

I played both of them back in the day. Playing them again would be like seeing an old friend I haven't seen in years.

ShadowWalker56: What I mean by similar is an RPG that has a good story, dungeons, good fights with enemies not push overs that one hit decimates them and all things that make good RPGs what tnhey are. "similar to BG 1&2" is actually pretty vague, depends on what aspect of BG draws you in.
Wizardry 6-8, especially 8, are worth checking out.
The Ultima Series is good for story but lacking in good fights. The widely praised Ultima 7 actually has horrible combat.
From what I understand, Planescape: Torment is another game with good story, but so-so combat. (It might not be as bad as Ultima 7 in the combat department.)

dtgreene: Elminage Gothic bight not have the story but it definitely has good fights with enemies. It can be a little too difficult and sometimes unfair at times. Wizardry 6-8, especially 8, are worth checking out.
