What the hell?
You're telling me the ridiculous DRM measures these corporations are taking are somehow... not childish?

Go and frolic on yet another DRM platform if you enjoy it so much. I'll stick to NOT having a separate system for every game.

Chill the fuck out. Within 10 years you'll all be playing everything from the cloud anyway. No piracy, full regional pricing at whatever the local market can just barely tolerate and not a cent less. The cloud is the way of the future, they're just gearing up for it.
You idiots let the horse bolt long ago. You should have shut the gate when Steam first arrived. Too late now. Support GOG all you like, GOG is a piss in the ocean, it will simply be bought out.
actually this isn't a client it sounds just like battle.net

and that's not that surprising.

I was just thinking the other day about how Bethesda is in the same realm as Blizzard (not the same level, though) in certain ways and was trying to envision them with their own battle.net

that said, they better not snub Steam because screw them then.

I think your both on the same side. :p

I think he thought you were calling us childish not the companies.

Ah, I assumed that the idiocy of the situation was enough to make it obvious which side I believe is childish.

I get ahead of myself in thinking that no one with half a brain would actually support yet another client. My Facebook feed would suggest otherwise.

My mistake.

The way you structured your statement made it appear you were referring to the news I was posting (the possibility of Bethesda.net being another DRM platform) as "childish paranoia." It doesn't seem from this rebuttal you meant that.

In fact it looks like we agree there is cause for deep concern.

stg83: Tell that to all the people drooling over the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition after Bethesda's E3 conference.
Not gonna lie: kind of want.

Obviously I labeled the wrong person the troll. We have the real winner here.

FYI internet speeds are no where near what they need to be (nor is the consistency) in most of the world for the cloud to allow gaming. PC and console are here for the foreseeable future.
So they're ensuring they stay on my blacklist? Good. Not that I cared about AAA title (excluding Witcher) for a long while anyway. Another overhyped bloatware.

What you said was probably sarcastic but I don't like your tone.
Obviously not. I won't be playing anything from cloud just as I don't use clouds now and just like I've never played a game always-online.
There will always be DRM-Free games as well as open-source games although today and in the future most AAA titles will be DRMed.
How would a cloud prevent piracy? If the data is accessed by your computer then even in that case there will be piracy.
Apart from that, I am not a part of "you" so please leave me alone with that. The first time I heard of Steam was in 2011 when it already was a requirement for many games.

Sadly, there are a few big titles I would like to play that unfortunately are DRMed.
But still. I mostly agree although that trend really is problematic because it makes DRM for small titles over time acceptable as well.

I can't begin to imagine how far detached from reality those highest-ups at Zenimax must be.

Loosing a few 10Ks of old stubborn gamers like me when they went Steam exclusive for PC is not really making a dent in their pocket; but walking out of Steam for their own thing?

Let me guess: The speech for how the evil pirates are responsible for the low amount of sales on future that platform only releases is already prepared? :D

... probably it will end up using both clients. Steam and the new one.

Then we go play outside. *sunlight appears* "Ahhh, my lily-white skin!"

I didn't say now, i said within 10 years.
Yay! Maybe this will make their games come to GOG!

Oh wait, wrong thread...
