Yeah that's for you all medieval lovers who want to read a lenghty argumented article about armor design in games and their real life purposes (so yeah, boobs armor is dangerous but whatever....):

A true Kensai needs no armor.
low rated
Armour
As the author points out, it's not about realism, it's about how cool your character looks, that's why i enjoy the fps aspect of TES (well, and Fallout 3/NV) games, at least i can have different parts with different stats and i don't care how i look.
To be fair Sarevok's armor is magical so those spikes don't add extra weight.
Why wear armor, when you can just dodge?
Ninjas > Knights.

^ That is how a proper warrior fights.
None of that sissy protective nonsense. That just encourages laziness.
Why should I wear heavy armour if I can discourage my enemies with my manly chest hair???

The ancient Celts would discourage their enemies with their private parts. Seriously. They were some crazy mother fuckers.
In a duel I have no use for armor, just a light, quick weapon that I can slice and thrust with until my enemy yields, or even if he doesn't. But I would never go into a proper battle without protection. In a crowded melee attacks come from all sides and quite unexpectedly. And it's noisy and you can't hear them coming at you. And sometimes they shoot.

Playing bagpipes like the scots may also work... of course, they're largely descendants of the celts.
While an interesting read, it sounded a little like the writer is complaining that games are just not real enough for them. Lets face it, most games are more interested in fun game-play then life simulation.
I do not want to be playing a game where I spend 20 minutes changing into armour. I know it is realistic as there are plenty of recorded battles in history were solders could not get their armours on fast enough due to the attackers ambushing them, but unless it fills the narrative I do not care about it.
The article reads like some articles I got from my hema buddies years ago.
I never was into Harnischfechten since it's more a thing for chaotic battles while I always were more the one-on-one guy and the forearms as well as the head are about the most important thing there since they are usually the only parts in range of your opponent. Every piece of armour is slowing you down as hell while evasion is always the better way with or without armour.

Only that the Scots were about the last culture to include the bagpipes, they are more a symbol of the middle east and Europe (especcially France) when it comes to tradition. The only reason why bagpipes are associated with Scotland today is the military.

The reason armor is never realistic in games is that nobody is ever aiming for realism in games featuring armor. :P
