Not in, but I have TBS games to mention:

First is one of my most-played games EVER, Civilization II. There are so many options available that the game never became stale, and with original, extended edition (addition of a new planet to populate once your spaceship arrives); Fantasy; and Sci-Fi to choose from, it's like three games in one~!

Next is Warlock: Master of the Arcane. I have over 250 hours into this one, and for an old Civ II player, it's easy to learn, as the mechanics are basically the same.
I'm in! thank you & +1!

two come to mind, xcom and heroes of might and magic 3

Maybe xcom.. reason might be that terror from the deep was from the first games I ever played, and I got hooked with it. Not knowing english didn't help either,as I was just a child,so basically I kept bugging passing parents/relatives through the room asking them what does it say here? :P after some time I relied on the bars and numbers, also helped me learn a bit of english. In the end I managed to finish it,I still remember my fathers surpised look when I told him and he saw the ending,he kept telling me that game wasnt for my age.

Well then I guess Xcom for sentimental reasons :P

also,HAPPY NEW YEAR! :D
Nice giveaway!

I'm in!

When it comes to turn-based strategy games, one of my favorites is Lords of the Realm 2! It starts off with TBS, and then it switches to RTS with battles and castle sieges!

Good luck, everyone!
Hmm, I'm in for this one too.

Favorite, probably King's Bounty: The Legend, though in a fair number of ways, if you take the elements that make it up into account, it likely shouldn't be. Far more than the sum of its parts, that one. And I'm picking it because I didn't play Armored Princess yet (have it on here, but...), though people say it's possibly even better.
Age of Wonders was also interesting, but definitely not at the same level. Played the first two, also have Shadow Magic on here...
As for HoMM, it used to be something I played, but was also very frustrated by. The one I actually liked was the one most others didn't, as in HoMM4. Finally brought the changes I kept wanting to see in the series, that one, but of course, since that wasn't what had made the series up to that point, you know what happened...

I'm in, thank you for the GA. :)

In fact, I prefer RTS over TBS, but there are notable exceptions. Out of "normal TBS", my favorite is probably HoMM series, the best being HoMM3. Out of "Haha TBS", I used to love Worms: World Party when I was young. Out of "old-mobile-TBS", Revival 2 caught me.

Not in for this one - I own it already - but I'll pop in to +1 and to say that this is one of my favorite games.
Not in but thank you for the giveaway :) +1

This game is like Heroes of Might and Magic?
I'm in, thank you!

I'd probably say Heroes III. Tons of content, timeless gfx, easy to pick up.
I'm not in as a very generous user gifted me the game recently, but as for my favorite turn based strategy game?

I'd have to go with Civilization IV. This game seems to have the perfect balance of complexity and playability; there's so much you can do, so many ways you can play, yet never does it feel overwhelming or like you can't understand everything. There's so much variety within the game, and there's true replayability within in- not simply making the player want to try for a different victory condition, but allowing the player to enjoy themselves even if they replay on the same settings as last time.

Sadly, much of this feels like V didn't understand what made IV and its predecessors great, but that's a discussion for another time.

I could never get into the Civilization/Alpha Centauri series. What is the best one to try again today i.e intuitive UI, the AI doesn't cheat, etc.?
Lords of the Realm is a great game too, forgot about that one. Didn't like Warlock, is the second one better?
Fallen Enchanters - another one to the wishlist.

And the winner is IronArcturus. Have fun and don't blame me for any real-life issues due to playing until 3am every day :P

For me the best is Civ 2.

About Warlock, I made the mistake of buying the second. It is exactly the first one (better graphics only).
