Similar beat 'em up/brawler /hack and slash with ancient/medieval/barbarian characters and world?

Dragon's Crown.

+1

I've played (but not beaten) dragon's crown. Perhaps what's really unique about the game is you can find corpses you can later resurrect who have levels similar to your own, so your 1 player party can have 3 NPC companions who help you. Better is later if you decide to restart with a new class/character, you can add in your level 60 NPC's to assist your lvl 3 self, making the game insanely easy, or hard if you want to go totally solo.

I haven't really touched the game after dropping 10 hours into it, hmmm... maybe if my GF wants to play...

Which version were you playing?
I heard the Vita version had framerate issues at release. Don't know if they ever fixed those.

Wow... It looks like cool and interesting, but unfortunately a PS-exclusive title.

There's always Sacred: Citadel.

I have Sacred RPG. I want something with Golden Axe's atmosphere (e.g a similar epic soundtrack, GA-like characters, world).
You can suggest any similar one form any genre, but a beat 'em up is better.

I've actually had a decent amount of fun with it. Steam reviews seem to suggest I wasn't the only one.

Just... Look at the trailer of linked game, please ;-)

Citadel is a spinoff, it's a beam 'em up.

Citadel is decent, if only the design wasn't awful. Really game 3 challenges per level, you can't choose which level and have to do each seperately? what fun.
If you ignore the challenges and just play through it's a decent enough game.

It's more similar to Medieval Super Mario. :))

The gameplay really reminded me of playing Golden Axe quite a lot. I admit the art style is a bit ... Off tho if a replica of Golden Axe would be what you're looking for.

The Dungeons & Dragons game does look a fair bit more interesting tho.

I suppose I did just that. Still, I feel it mostly improved on Golden Axe formula - I've tried playing it recently and it didn't age very well. Controls are unresponsive, the game is extremely repetitive... I dunno, it's not quite as good as I remember it.
