Looking at Amazon for some kids games from before (in this case Barnyard), the prices are still pretty high. Well the prices are low but the delivery is high. Like £2 for a used copy but £5 delivery. I came to gog hoping beyond hope that I could get a digital copy for my daughter who is huge into barnyard and games at the moment.

But I think there is an untapped market here as steam only seems to have the reboots.
A "kids section" would be nice too.. Hmm..
Might just try to write in in as a suggestion and have people vote on it?

There's already something like that :

Steam has all the Putt Putt games etc. They're a bit on the expensive separately but my kids love em.Assuming your sprog is wee. :)
You can try Pyajama Sam and Incredible Machines on gog.
You can also try Portal, Crazy Machines and Contraption Maker on steam.
I think Contraption Maker has a demo try that first.
In case you want Contraption Maker then I have an extra key.

Also there are many kids flash games available for free.
You should try them too. Free is not always bad.

There are Mario games available for free. I would recommend to try Mari0. It is mario with portal.
If you dont mind can I ask your daughter's age?
This is a great kids game

I've already sent the developers an email suggesting a GoG release.

It might be worth sending them emails.

I'll also second other peoples comment about a kids section or kids filter.

It would be nice if we could get Oregon Trail on this site. It seems like it would be a perfect fit, even if the graphics (which were good for the time) are primitive by modern standards. (This game was actually used in schools to teach about the real-life Oregon Trail and the gold rush.)
Someone else mentioned Pajama Sam, which is a classic. I'd also recommend Lily Looking Through--very good and in a similar vein.

It's true, though--GOG needs more of the classic kids' games. Where is Zoombinis? It was just re-released for Android, so surely it's viable for re-release here. And what about the Carmen Sandiago games? What about The Yukon Trail or Super Solvers: Gizmos and Gadgets? There are so many classics. I'm sure it's hard to get the rights to some of these, unfortunately.

What about the Creatures games? Wouldn't that be a good choice for kids?

Ahh, good on ya! Didn't bother to check at that moment.
Thanks for pulling that up.

Yep.

When my kid was a kid (he's just starting grad school now), he loved playing those..
Gomo is here as well, and I definitely see that as more a children's game. With Pajama Sam here, I'm thinking we might see the rest of Humongous Games here soon.
