Yeah, as i said sounded promising... but until it's in our hands don't know. Maybe it was entirely fake (entirely possible, as the cpu numbers looked a little odd). If it comes out great, otherwise it will be forgotten and has no long term effects. That's pretty much where i stand on it.
Zen 2 is coming out on 7/7/2019. Was expecting more tbh. No words of APU (please come again!).

Just waiting for real independent benchmarks now.
Ryzen 9 3900X is looking sweet so i might grab that one, clocks are perfectly fine especially if the 15% IPC improvements turn out to be true and translate well into gaming and not just workloads and other heavy multithreaded applications, the larger cache is also nice but as always it's best to wait until release since AMD will ofc use benchmarks that benefit their cpu's and portrays them in the best light possible, so far it seems they will be quite competitive or even surpass Intel in best case.

Good prices too but 3600X is only 70$ cheaper than 3700X so R7 might be the better buy this gen we'll see.

I am personally hesitant to get the 3900x because of the core count and difficulties some software/games have with high core counts. I might do some googling on it to see if it's really an issue. It's between 3800x and 3900x for me, and i am leaning towards 3800x. After having some current difficulties with amd drivers on the GPU side for one of my PCs, I am second guessing getting an AMD based CPU/chipset system.
Damn I was kinda hoping for a 16 core CPU. I suspect they'll later release a 3950X or such with a "Zen2+" refresh or something like that. That, or a binned variant of the 12 core CPU with higher clocks.

3900X looks great but I don't think I need a new CPU just yet to justify the expense. My 1800X is holding up well enough.

I was planning to upgrade to Zen 2 as soon as it's out but I have run into some other expenses that need taking care of...

Just as I was afraid, they cost quite a bit. It was to be expected if they were as good as promised earlier this year.

I expect those prices to drop a fair bit by the time Turkey Day rolls around. In my opinion, those prices are for day-one customers while availability is low and while Ryzen 2000 still roams the Earth.

Why only Ryzen 5, 7, and 9? Where's the Ryzen 3 for the more budget-conscious?

No info yet but they might reveal something on AMD Next Horizon E3 event on June 10th.

OK, thanks.
16 core Ryzen 9s will come (probably once Intel releases info on the Comet Lake '10800k' to steal their thunder similar as Intel tried with the 9900KS yesterday) but they're a bit of an odd case as if you're going 16 core you should probably really be considering TR4/ HEDP instead of AM4 for more PCIe lanes and quad channel RAM. Even with PCIe 4 and a lot of cache on the Ryzen 9.

Since 3000 series APUs have only recently been announced 4000 series APUs (ie proper 7nm/ Zen2 rather than 3000 series 12nm/ Zen+) must be a bit off time wise. I wouldn't be surprised to see some APU like (close to SoC) solutions based on Navi and Zen 2 within the next year for use in laptops though, the Acer guy at the presentation seemed... quite keen.

Non APU Ryzen 3, I'd say it's 50/50 whether we'll get Zen 2 versions within the next year. I'd suspect at that price bracket they'll still be looking at 12nm Zen+, especially given they have a mandatory supply agreement with GloFo (until 2021, iirc).
If they are priced like that then they are competing directly with the Intel's offer in the same price brackets.
If perf/price ratio is not as competitive as the competition's then price adjustments need to be made.
The prices for Ryzen 5 models:

Ryzen 5 3600 6C/12T 3.6 / 4.2 GHz 65W 32MB L3 Cache $199
Ryzen 5 3600X 6C/12T 3.8 / 4.4 GHz 95W 32MB L3 Cache $249

I don't get who would pay 20% more money ($50) for maybe 5% more performance...

People who don't know how to overclock a CPU manually since XFR does it automatically, how much is dependent on your thermals and cooling solution though. For the price 3700X makes a whole lot more sense than 3600X to buy.

For people who do have a basic knowledge of PC's, overclocking and are looking for a midrange cpu then the X version make little sense for the Ryzen 5's.
