arturotuono: Any idea when your account was hijacked? I suspect mine was around 24th or 28th of May.

I've been going through this site looking at the other cases. Most seem to date to late May or early June.

I don't think it's an epidemic just yet, but the number of cases is worrying.

Yeah, I'm kind of bummed as I wanted to give Gog.com more money as well.
Not sure exactly didn't use it for a few days, but would be within that range, very end of may / beginning of june
What is it will all these hijacked accounts?

DCT: hijackers and script kiddies seem to be targeting GOG big time.

F4LL0UT: And for what? The same stuff they can get on any major pirate site. It's so mindfuckingly stupid.
The thrill of being able to "hack"(I use Hack in the loosest sense of the word) a site, the thrill of being able to just steal someone else stuff that they payed good money for, the thrill of selling a stolen account to some poor sap knowing full well that they are going to lose said account.

In other words to be a giant prick and feel like a big man and feeling like a genius for getting on over on dumb marks.
Were you using Galaxy? Do you have The Witcher 3?

I've never used Galaxy, and I don't have The Witcher 3 but in other cases, people have brought these two things up as commonalities among the hacked accounts.
We're trying to track down any commonalities with these hijacks. At least one user reported an attempt on his Humble Bundle account around the same time as the GOG hijack. Do you have a HB account and have you noticed anything similar there?

i0003: I contacted the email address that was now registered with my account, seems the account was sold to someone!
I'm perplexed by the idea that Russia is a place where people demand that games be 'priced appropriately', but some of them are willing to pay for hijacked GOG accounts.

Origin was EA's attempt to be like Valve and have their own version of Steam. If you've played anything by EA in the last few years (e.g. Mass Effect 3 or Battlefield), you might want to check.

Well, as long as the hijacked account is "priced appropriately"... :)
So accounts are getting hijacked and being sold to others now? Now that is something I have not heard, I guess they really do want that quick buck.

Dude when you get your account back remember this. Make a whole new fresh email just for your gog account and change that password once a month and make sure your windows or mac don't have a key logger in it or something that is stealing your passwords.

Practice safe SE... Um I mean safe Internet actions :) Yeah that's it!

Good one ! +1 for bringing a smile together with the irritation. Thankfully I'm only cruising this thread for news. Trying to make sure I avoid whatever the problem is.
I've said this elsewhere but I encourage everyone to check their account info and check if everything (e.g. e-mail) is correct.

And practice safe sex and password usage.
