Chross885: I noticed on GOG Galaxy that my email was not what it should be. It's a .ru email now. I can no longer login to anything GOG related with my main account. Anytime I try to login it says "user not found" for my main email. What's concerning is my main email has to still be in the database because I'm now receiving GOG emails in russian to my main email.

rtcvb32: That sounds like a major problem... Maybe for immediate action you can get Judas to lock your account, then after it's locked it can get looked at by the admins when they get to it... Alternatively if it's in the obvious history the email changed, reset the password and revert to the previous email.

Hmmm... Might be time to change from my insecure password to my more secure password...

That's also the same combination I have on my luggage.

grimwerk: Why hack a GOG account and deny the original owner access?
My brain says grey market resale.
1 2 3 4 5? That's the type of combination an idiot would put on his luggage.

Sir! We have the combination! It's 1 2 3 4 5!

I wonder how can that worm win some $$$, when there's Pirate Bay, the kingdom of the pirates...

I suppose so. Seems like the buyer would have to have some curious ethics (or motivations), as almabrds has hinted.

Perhaps it's good old-fashioned internet fun.
As an aside, the hackers who broke into Syrian president Assad's e-mail account claimed his password was 1234.
President of a country, haha!

Seems to me the hacker would profit most by acting as a parasite.

As is, the hacker's killed the goose that lays the golden eggs.

edit:
I'm not recommending this behavior, of course. Just curious about the motivation here.
It's obvious, the hacker is trying to troll the OP.

Have you tried doing a reset password and using the old email that was changed... probably won't work but it's worth a try.

I'd be pissed if I were in charge of an entire country and I couldn't get some sort of biometric reader. Just a simple fingerprint reader, even. I'm barely in charge of myself most days and remembering passwords makes me want to retire to my fainting chair with a mint julep.

Lol, I know right. I'd just piggy back off the OP's games that they buy and not make it obvious I've accessed the account. Not that I condone such things. xD

In between saying "EEEH EEEEH EEEEEEH!" and [Must fling poo!], of course.

Did you send the ticket from your compromised account? If yes, any replies from support will be going to the .ru email, including the "Ticket received" response.

I know I shouldn't say this, but my wife is really like that. I have had to force her to change her email etc. password from mere 123456 or something like that to something else. Some people just think it doesn't matter, or that a hacker couldn't possibly figure out one is using such a simple password.

To her Android phone, she recently added that pattern lock where you have to draw a pattern to unlock the phone, by herself. My first guess what pattern she might have used was right, I could unlock it instantly. God damn it.

GOG accounts really don't have monetary value. If I were a hacker, I'd do it for downloading games.

Then again, GOG games are easily found in torrents. As they're DRM free, no need for crack thus it's even easier.
I believe my GOG account has been hacked, my e-mail doesn't exist when attempting to login and all GOG e-mails I recieve are now in Russian.

I have e-mailed support however as per reply 27 I believe the responses will not go to my e-mail.

OP did you get any help?
