Hello there everybody I have created a remake of the old Amiga Pengo game for modern PCs with tons of new features and improvements and of course an excellent map editor and other cool stuff.

If you didnt know Pengo was one of the best games for the Amiga it is a really nice Action/Maze game but unfortunately on the Amiga it is locked on that platform unable to emulate 100% perfectly and comes with only a limited selection of maps no ability to change the game and of course no map editor.

My game solves all these issues and anybody who appreciates a game like Pengo or loved the original Amiga version will find mine to a worthy remake of it.

Here is the homepage:
ubersoft DOT org/pengo/

Here is 3 Let's Play videos I made of all 3 campaigns in the game (You can create your own campaigns using the editor).

Let's Play of the PengoFull campaign
watch?v=mbOGdvZRpVU

Let's Play of the PengoDemo campaign
watch?v=TSWBuBK35ho

Let's Play of the AiPengo campaign
watch?v=MkxByPFcx_o

Let's Play of the AiPengo campaign (Rematch!)
watch?v=eVPxT0iySB8

This video shows you the game itself and the editor etc but not really so much *playing*
watch?v=_WfxMd4gq48

Tell me what you guys think... Of course the game is free and requires no payment etc.

It looks pretty cool. Very faithful to the 1994 Amiga version you tried to remake.

I do question the amount of credit you give to that "original" Amiga version though, if only by omission. The actual original Pengo was a coin-op from 1982, and throughout the 80s and early 90s it was ported and cloned to just about every platform in existence at the time. The 1994 Amiga version is not even close to being an original game. It's not even listed on , though it has an entry on [url=http://www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php?id=2852]LemonAmiga. I confess that I've never seen it before, probably because it was made around the time I (along with lots of others) switched from Amiga to PC.

Other than that, very well done :-)

I am aware MartinSoft Pengo is not the original "Pengo" however in terms of my game it IS the original source material and it does get proper credits all over my game even at the main title screen.

However since it is MartinSoft Pengo I'm remaking I redirect everybody there for credits on the Pengo source of my game of course MartinSoft Pengo redirects people back to the Original.

Yea I tried to make mine as accurate to it as possible you can see in videos of MartinSoft Pengo compared to mine it's pretty much spot on.
As you're new and can't post links, I'm putting up the complete link so it's more convenient to others:

Webpage with screenshots and let's play videos
http://ubersoft.org/pengo/

BTW, I see there is a password on the campaign screenshot, I suppose it's to get to each specific level (instead of a savegame system). So, could you maybe post the passwords somewhere on your page for people like me who don't have time to play but like to see everything of a game? (yeah, I'm basically a cheater ^o^)

Greetings, The password system is used for two things:

1. It can be used to enter a level password that lets you SKIP to that level (Every 10th level of any campaign you are given a password that can take you back to that level by entering it -- the password is basically a generated hash based on the level file itself and thus no two campaigns have the same passwords)
2. It can be used to enter/leave the map editor mode (The map editor can't be used to skip levels)

There is no *cheat* mode on the release version and no cheats to enter for the game however I could send you a list of passwords to skip to every 10th level of every campaign if you want... I won't post that information on my site since I dont want to ruin the fun for people who enjoy playing but will be tempted to cheat if given the chance.

An interesting side note... You can create your own campaign and place godmode rings all over it and cheat like hell in that campaign... ^^

BTW - Check your PM I sent you the password list.

Oh, I know. It's just that while you refer to the 1994 Amiga version many times using the word "original" (in the sense that that is the version you have done a remake of), you never once indicate that that version is not in fact the original version of Pengo. For people who don't already know Pengo and read your page, you make it seem like the 1994 Amiga version is the original version of the game. But hey, I just thought I'd mention it. It's really not that important.

I agree that your remake truly is spot on, and the level editor is a really nice touch. Well done :-)
It seems pretty much nobody is interested in retro games huh? Only differance between my game and other retro games of a similar type is mine is free and because its free it gets no attention? Or maybe it lacks "EA" sticker on it...
Actually in here when someone sees an EA sticker they immediately call an exorcist. I'm serious, there are people in here that would rather shove nails up their anus than screw around with an EA title.

Glad to know I'm not alone in that lol.
I owned an Atari 5200 for a week and Pengo was one of three games I had. I remember enjoying it quite a bit.

Thanks for the remake. I've added it to my daunting stack.

Also, I scratched my head over:
$foo = 150 | 105; # yields 255 (0x96 | 0x69 is 0xFF)

I get it. It's just a tricksy example.
