Nice article.

To be honest though, the above fit with 99% of "5 Life Skills That <Insert Hobby Here> Can Help You Develop".

EDIT:
And as the comments pointed out. Another very important skill is improving your (English) language for non-native speakers.

1. Sure. So long as your definition of patience is rage-quiting and tossing your PS4 into the garbage. Perseverance? Sure, clicking the same die/reload strategy over and over demands it. Then again, endless repetition of busy work tasks can lead to the earlier mentioned PS4 solution.

2. As long as it involves combat and/or graphic depictions of war violence.

3. I don't know. Is it on Facebook?

4. Depends on the base intelligence of the gamer, multiplied by the chemical enhancements he/she is using, and then divided by the actual amount of time spent playing the game.

5. Go fuck yourself.
Looks like the OP,derailed their own thread, would that be a first??:-)
This is probably just wishful thinking ;)
Funny - I read can't instead of can, and thougt it made perfect sense!

What about hand-eye coordination? That's probably the first and foremost. ;)

In any case, the stuff about grinding is silly. Learning not to give up if something is challenging and getting better through practice might prove useful in life, doing mindless repetitive stuff and wasting your life time on it won't, in my book. Maybe it can teach you to become apathethic to things you don't enjoy, but a better way would be to develop a positive attitude towards them or change them. If you "grind" through your homework, you'll learn nothing, and if you "grind" through your work projects, you're either doing the wrong job or you're doing your job wrong. Becoming apathethic to this has nothing to do with patience and won't make you enjoy your life more or let you become a better person.
