Has anyone able to determine or do they know for certain how distress calls work?

More specifically, a distress call shows up on my map, is there any difference between if I go there immediately, or wait 2, 3, 4, or 5 jumps to go there? I would think immediacy would matter, but, I can't seem to create any evidence to support that, so I'm thinking it doesn't matter how many jumps to take to get there, it is always the same once it is generated.

Immediacy doesn't matter - whether you're too late or on time or some other thing happens is purely up to the event and random chance.

All that distress calls do from a gameplay POV is to give you an idea of what you could possibly expect to encounter (combined with the sector number, sector type, etc.).

Yep, I figured as much, just making sure and making it known. THanks!
