One of my fighters was held fast and then knocked unconscious (through regular damage) by giant mantises. After this, I can't get my fighter to move in any future combat and have to go back to a considerably earlier save game. Anyone else encountered this bug?
No, but then again, I haven't played the game. Then again, another poster did mention experiencing a similar bug. My guess is that the game failed to properly end the "held fast" effect and return movement to normal because the character fell unconscious.

You can fix this by hex editing the save file to restore the character's movement to what it should be.

Try making a backup save, then delete the CHRDATxy.SPC file of the held character (where x = save slot A - J, y = character number 1 - 8). The file is in the SAVE-folder.

The SPC-files are special effects information for the characters.
