oh man, wasteland 2 is coming, and its going to be great! by the same guy who did fallout, and i saw a screen shot,

looks like there none of that first person crap, this is back to the fallout 1 and 2 basics! but with better graphics!

what i've always wanted! WOO HOO!

feel free to post any news or whatever you wnat about the game, its still in production so theres not too much to know about it yet.
I believe there's a Wasteland 2 thread hanging around... somewhere. But anyway, it looks awesome and i'm totally hyped. I really like that they're going for a bit more of a colorful aesthetic, compared to the greyness of Fallout.

Look! Gameplay footage! ...sort of. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9UIKsaROLU&feature=player_embedded
Look here for information on Wasteland 2, http://wasteland.inxile-entertainment.com The game funding came from donations through Kickstarter, the goal was $900,000 and so far they have come close to $3 million. Brian Fargo has assembled most of the original Fallout design team for Wasteland 2. The game has a tentative release date of October 2013.
I'm proud to say that I'm among those who supported the Kickstarter (not with a huge sum, but enough to get the Mark Morgan soundtrack which I look very much forward to) so you guys can guess how much I wish for the game to be great :-)
I don't get it. I really think the original fallout universe is awesome, but Ive never even heard of Wasteland. If they make the game will it look like fallout tactics or is it going to be more like fallout 3? I happen to think that while Tactics didn't have the speech skill, the graphics of that game and fallout 1 and 2 were perfect.

Whats the difference?

Wasteland was the game that preceeded Fallout spiritually as a post-apocalyptic RPG. All the elements Fallout was loved and praised for were lifted or inspired in one way or another from Wasteland. In a way Interplay people wanted to continue Wastelands concepts and ideas, but EA wouldn't give up the rights to the series, so they called it Fallout. In a way inXile is doing the same thing - since they can't make a Fallout 4, they managed to aquire the rights to Wasteland.

As for Wasteland 2 from what has been released on the Kickstarter and inXile pages, it definitely will not be anything like Tactics or Fallout 3 gameplay-wise. It will be turn-based, party-based, with an isometric tactical view. Unlike Tactics, it will be a multi-branching, story and decision driven RPG.
Then you are indeed a god among men. A post-apocalyptic turn based-partybased rpg in isometric view. Im gonna shit the bed.

I hope this misconception does not lead people to think that they are getting a spiritual Fallout sequel with Wasteland 2. That is not what Fargo has promised. In fact, he has made it quite clear that he always wanted to do a Wasteland sequel. It has nothing to do with them wanting to make a Fallout 4. Sure, there are similarities but some may come away disappointed if they are thinking a Wasteland 2 is essentially Fallout with a different name.
