I have played and loved this game since the first time I installed the Fallout demo, more than a decade ago.
It's been a game that I've had installed on every PC I've ever owned.
Unfortunately, XP didn't treat this game kindly. Vista hasn't been much better.
Palette swapping problems, movie playback problems, the screen just randomly going black, until you wipe over it with the mouse...
All little niggles that I've put up with over the last 5 years or so, to play one of my all-time favourite games.
Then, along comes GoG with the offer of a 100% XP/Vista compatible version of the game. For dirt cheap.
How could I refuse?
This is the best I have seen the game in years. In fact, likely even better than when it initially launched. There are no colour problems - everything looks exactly as it was intended. And the movies - the movies are not only restored to functional, they suffer less compression and look cleaner than they ever did on the original CD.
Nothing but kudos for making the game run the way it was intended to.
