o_O, the intro video. No, I think you're right. AFAIK, there isn't one for that.

yea they said the censored the intro video.... damn. You know what the shity part is.. first time classic fallout players are getting a water down version not knowing any better. Killing kids and extra violence is what it parts from the so so fallout FPS sequels of today.

Is the gog version censored too?

The intro for the GOG version is uncut, but the game itself is, AFAIK, the UK version (which needs to be patched).

okay what patches do we need? there is the patch that adds kids back and then there are the unofficial patches which i think the GOG version uses.

do we do kid patch then latest unoffcial patch for US or just latest unoffcial patch for US?
Man why do these conversations on these forums always get so messy with misleading questions and incorrect conclusions?

Here are the simple facts:

- The latest and most complete official patch for Fallout 1 is 1.2 UK. This is the version GOG is using.
- The intro is complete and features a soldier in power armor executing a presumably Canadian citizen with two shots to the back of the head
- "Drugs" are referred to as "Chems" in the UK release.
- The sprites for children in the UK release are transparent. You can make them opaque again by downloading an unofficial fix/patch called "Fallout 1 Children Patch" from here: http://www.nma-fallout.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=12

For a most vanilla setup, just install the game and apply the "Fallout 1 Children Patch". Now you have a base game that is fully functional. If you want to add more community fixes and patches, you may do so at this point.
I've been told the Steam versions already have some mods installed, like Sfall, maybe? I'm keeping my GoG copies, so it would be nice if someone could verify that.
^ Steam version comes with the hi-res patch already added.

Option to choose the 'classic' version when starting the game via steam.

Don't know what else it comes with, installed FIXT shortly after seeing if the game actually worked with a vanilla install.
