Export: The GOG version of Fallout is already the official 1.2 version. All GOG games are the most current official patch, it's just the unofficial patches and "fix packs" that you have to install yourself. I think the children are returned to the game with that patch because they weren't taken out in the first place for the American version, and I guess that's the version the "semi-official" patch is based on.
Fallout 1 from GOG is the EU version, because the latest US version of Fallout was 1.1, so the children aren't in the game, i think. I can be wrong, but i think im not :P Also is the NPCmod a good thing? And what patches youre using? Only the 1.2 semi official patch and the 1.3.4 unofficial patch ?
O, and is the Bible that you get on the GOG version helpful? Or is it trash ?

Yeah, the GOG version is the European one but the fan-made patches (the 1.2 semi-official and 1.3 one) are based on the US version and I think the stuff in the Data folder you install with the patches must also include the relevant files since I'm pretty sure when I first reinstalled F1 and F2 recently, I didn't install the children patches and the kids were still there.

And yeah, I have 1.2 and 1.3.4 installed plus the one that lets you have better control over your party members. One of them, Dogment, couldn't even be interacted with at all so if you wanted to sneak around with him in your party, you couldn't. You'd just have to kill him to get rid of him. At a certain part of the game, he would definitely die because of these force fields you have to run through. Also, the party members wouldn't level up and couldn't be given better armour. In the patch, not only can they wear armour, it also changes their appearance (it didn't even do this in the basic version of F2).

The Bible is really good but it's nothing to do with gameplay. It's all about the world, the races, the history - basically, everything that makes up the thing that is Fallout. I don't know if you know anyone that's ever done a pen and paper RPG like Dungeons and Dragons, but I know someone who used to and he had the rulebook for it, but he also had this book that was nothing but information, pictures, stories - basically like an incredibly thick travel brochure to this fantasy world. It was meant to build up the world so people could enjoy "playing" in it more. Well that's basically what the Fallout Bible is.

Ok :) Also, do i need to worry about the time limit? And i saw you can reload your gun, but where can i see when i need to reload? Also, i can shoot without bullets equipped, what is the different with or without bullets? Last questions, i got 2 different kind of bullets, where can i see what the different between the different kind of bullets is ? And, can i choose between running and walking, because i see some people run on video's but im just walking really slow...

Plus, in big towns with ALLOT of people, you can sometimes get a team mate if you do a specific mission, but how i have to know when that is possible? I mean talking to tons of people every mission is impossible, any tips?

MagicFeather: And i saw you can reload your gun, but where can i see when i need to reload?
If you look to the right of the gun there is a thin green line, that represents how full your gun is
Link to a screen shot
You should be able to see the green line on that Screen Shot (between the gun and the HP).

I have no idea what you mean here. You can fire the gun without having bullets in your other hand but you cannot fire without having bullets in your gun.

Can't help you on this question; I know they have different effects but I don't know of any sites with actual number values for them.

You can double click on a spot to run to it but if you run you will leave 'sneaking mode' if you were in it before.

Most of the people in a town are labelled as Peasant or Townsfolk or some other generic name, the ones with actual names (Phil) or descriptions (An odd looking man) are usually people to talk to; if someone is going to join you at the end of a quest they are usually the person who gives you the quest, others join you just by you talking to them and convincing them with your high speech skill.

But you should really be talking to everyone with a 'name', it's part of the experience of an RPG, experiment with your choices!

Yeah, the bullets are just in your inventory and the gun will have some in when you first find it. You can see the ammo type that's in the gun by using the "Look at" option in the inventory (right click to change the cursor). I think the armour penetrating bullets (AP) ignore some (or maybe all, but I doubt it) of the damage resistance of the armour the target is wearing. In reality, FMJ ammo can go at a higher velocity than other bullets but sometimes do less damage - I guess that means they're more accurate but possibly weaker. Hollow point (can't remember if they're actually in Fallout...) do more damage to the target but are crap at penetrating armour. So maybe these properties are reflected in the game, but in all honesty it doesn't seem to matter if you just stick to the regular bullets.

The time limit is only a problem if you aimlessly travel across the world map many, many times. Time passes pretty slowly when you're in an actual location but days fly by in seconds as you move on the world map. Reading magazines and using the Doctor or First Aid skills also move time ahead by a few hours and if you keep on doing them lots of times in a row, a few days can go by (this is more of an issue if you buy loads of skill mags from that shop in The Hub).

As for running, you can hold shift and click to run. You can also turn "Always Run" on in the options menu, which I recommend doing. If you're going to sneak around, you can hold shift and click because if Always Run is on it will make you walk rather than its normal function of making you run.

Man thanx for the nice service, both! I gonna play it now for a few days, and i i have more question i will let you know :). For now, thanx for the great help!
And i got one already haha, how can i see how strong a weapon is, can't find it in the weapon description. Also i have a gun where i can shoot with from far with a high %, and a other weapon not, where can i see with which weapon i can shoot from far distant and which not? And also, sometimes if i have 2 enemies, enemy 1 moves after that, enemy 2 moves, after that enemy 1 moves again. How can that enemy get 2 turns with 1 turn from a other enemy between it?

Also, i got the NPC mod, but how can i change the tactics of a team mate and the amor weapons ect? Also, i saw somewhere that if an NPC stays at the front of a door, you can ask to step aside, but i can't find out how i can do that.

Last one for today :) Sometimes if someone is walking and talking, the text above the head don't move with the person talking if the are walking, this is frustration if more people move and talk. Is this a bug or is this normal?

THANKS!

Weapon damage for active weapon is shown in the inventory screen alongside your current armor class when you don't have any items selected. Weapon range affects accuracy as well as maximum range, but some weapons are just more accurate at close or long ranges.

The movement is probably due to enemy acting after you in this round, and then before you on the next round.

Asking someone to move is in FO2, added due to frustration caused by FO1 pals.

All kinds of info on equipment and stuff at Fallout Wiki. Beware the spoilers!

All kinds of graphics glitches are commonplace.
As are other glitches, save often and keep multiple saves..

Thanks! About the rounds, do you mean that every round a random character will be selected who can begin a turn ect?

To make is clear about the weapons, the gun you get directly at the beginning of the game is the same as the gun Ian have from Shady Sands, with exactly the same stats, but his gun is by far more accurate, can i find somewhere how accurate a gun is?

Also, i got the NPC mod, but how can i change the tactics of a team mate and the amor weapons ect?
New questions, also look at my previous post please.

If i go in combat mode, every enemy will be highlighted by a red line, i like that because i can choose my tactics better if i see them, problem is, can i do this also without going in combat mode?

Also i have a char with the option "skilled" added on by the char creation, but i saw that this is useless because its buggy or something.

Last one, you got some years now as a time limit in version 1.2, with version 1 you got 150 days. But if i walk with the 1.2 patch to the from the beginning of the game to Shady Sands i got -5 days? Is this normal?
Regarding Ian's gun... do you mean, if you take it from him and use it yourself, it's more accurate, or do you mean that HE is more accurate than you are? If he is more accurate than you it's probably because he has a higher small guns skill and / or a higher perception stat than you do. If you increase your small guns skill you will get more accurate with such guns.

I believe that it is normal for it to take around 5 days to get to Shady Sands. Traveling on the world map takes a long time. You will have plenty of time to finish the game though. The first part of the game (finding the water chip) will still have a time limit, but with version 1.2 I don't think the rest of the game is timed. Even if it is timed, though, it's more than enough time to get everything done.

No. You need to be in combat mode to get the red outlines but you can go into and out of combat mode whenever you like if you are not being attacked by anyone, there's a button to click on the screen and a keyboard shortcut too!

Never seen anything saying that "Skilled" is bugged, where are you reading this?

Yeah, it'll take a lot of (game)time to walk to any place through the desert,.

It was the same gun, but with other bullets.

And the buggy ''Skilled'' Read this: Skilled: With a decent IN you'll be swimming in skill points. A horrible trait, avoid like the plague (unless you have IN 1 or something, though it beats me why you would). Skilled is bugged in the way that you don't get the extra 5 skill points per level you're supposed to get. If you want to simulate this effect you could give yourself 2-3 levels of the Educated perk using a character editor.

Still got the question how to change the armor of NPC's and the Tactics of them with the NPCMod ?
