I recently got the GOG version of Fallout 2, and I'm trying to get it to run with some mods on Mac.

I installed the restoration mod, megamod, and killap's unofficial patch using a VM - I just patched the Fallout folder in the c-drive contained within the wineskin. All of the patches seemed to work fine, but when I try to launch the game I get the 'Fallout 2 seems to be running in compatibility mode' error, and then the game closes.

I already disabled the compatibility check on the ddraw.ini, as well as on the fallout2.exe, so I'm a bit lost for options here. I also noticed that the game opens fine when I just open the exe contained within the wineksin from the VM, so it's clearly a mac-related issue.

I know the simple solution here is to just play on my windows VM, but I feel there has to be a way to make it work on my native OS. Is my method of modding the wineskin-contained directory incorrect? Anybody have any ideas?

Reinstall the game and only use the Restoration Project. I wouldn't recommend to combine it with megamod and there's absolutely no need to install killap's unofficial patch as it is included in the Restoration Project. On the contrary, installing the unofficial patch afterwards, will deactivate all the new content of the Restauration Project Mod.
