I had a non-GOG version of Fallout 1 on my old netbook, and I got very close to the end before I ended up getting a new netbook and installing my GOG version of Fallout there. My non-GOG saves don't seem to load in the GOG version, even though everything looks the same and I've got all the saves in the right folder. Has anyone else had this issue, with saves from non-GOG installs not loading in GOG installs? I still have the old netbook so I'll just finish the game on there if I have to, but I'd prefer to transfer everything properly.

A few major Fallout patches make the updated game not compatible with earlier version saves.
It has nothing particular to do with GOG version. Just newer version game not compatible to older version saves.

Whether or not you used a mod (killaps unofficial patch or the restoration one) with the save also affects if you can use it. If you used one you will have to resinstall it to use the save.
