Which unofficial patch? Killaps? Which version?

You might want to check NMA's boards to get the absolute latest update: http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php?action=category&cat_id=16.

Failing that (which would be very strange), the F2RP 2.2 mod includes the unofficial patch(es), it fixes even more stuff, and the stuff they add is minimal and in line with what the devs wanted originally: http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php?action=file&file_id=1097.

ALTHOUGH now that I'm typing this, I remember having a strange issue with the F2RP 2.2 not finding my F2. The problem occurred because a previous F2 installation had left around a phantom link/directory with the same name as the actual one - it was really weird.

Check your Windows Explorer - ensure you can see ALL files/directories (including hidden ones) - if you see a F2 directory with the same name but semi-transparent, then you have this weird issue - in which case deleting that old directory should sort things out. If that still doesn't work, re-install F2 into a totally different location and/or with a different directory name.
