1. No, you cannot sell items directly from your companions inventory. You have to take the items from the companion first. You can drop your items first and then take some things if need be.

2. You must have them in your "weapon" slots to make use of them.

3. Yes. Using a First Aid kit gives you +20 to your First Aid skill. Using a Doctors Bag gives +20 to Doctor.

4. Yes

5. Yes
1) Strangely enough, the only way to do this is via pickpocketing. If you want him to drop something, you have to steal it from him and drop it yourself. There's no special follower interface of any kind. (In FO2 it gets a lot easier.)

2) Put them into your active slot in your inventory, and then click them from the main game screen. They use batteries, though, so they won't last forever. The remaining battery life is the little green dots along the bottom.

3) They can help, but it's not a huge bonus. I wouldn't bother unless you're trying to Doctor a broken limb. They're very good for the caps-to-weight ratio, though, so they're worth grabbing to sell them. If you have one in your inventory, though, you might as well use it. Just save beforehand, because they have a random chance to be destroyed when you use them. It's a separate check, though, so it's possible to succeed at healing yourself but lose the kit.

4) Yes, it does. Most ammo is 1lb, but some of it is heavier. Rockets and flamethrower fuel are a LOT heavier.

5) Stimpacks (and most drugs) don't weigh anything. Super Stimpacks weigh a pound or two.
