I've been playing Fallout for a while now and I'm pretty sure I haven't seen any children that I can remember. If there isn't any kids in GoG's version of Fallout then how do I get them? Also does GoG's version of Fallout 2 have them?

You'll need to install this fan patch:

They patch the games to latest version, which is the UK version, in Fallout 1 case. Fallout 2 has children.
But they don't make much difference, there isn't quests related to them (unlike Fallout 2).
True, but getting the Childkiller reputation can be inconvenient if you're trying to be and play a good person, and since the kids are there and simply invisible...
I'm fully patched and i'm using up to date res patch. I just never really noticed if there was any kids in the game.
Ah, if I'm not mistaken, there's childrens only in Shady Sands and Hub (in the hospital). And there's big "childrens" in the cathedral.
There's a random encounter you can get in the coastal areas that has a guy and his kid in it. It's strongly implied via their dialog that the guy beats the kid, who isn't even his son but some random orphan he picked up in the wasteland. Without the children patch, it's just a guy standing by himself by the ocean saying nonsense.

Really though, kids don't have much impact on the game, at least not to the level of the invisible game-breaking pickpockets in Fallout 2.
Nevertheless, bloody inconvenient to get labeled a Childkiller, rare as the opportunity may be.
Well thank you guys for clearing this up :D
Still.Hitting kids with sledgehammer in groin is never forgeting experience,(:

Although I haven't come across children in Fallout I, I did come across them in Klamath in Fallout II. I remember first I had the game from the CD edition with no children, but the GOG version (at least for II) does have children.

Yeah for some reason the GOG version of Fallout is childless, whereas the GOG version of Fallout II is the version with children. Kind of odd, but as others have said easy enough to add in with patches - and FO2 would have been INCREDIBLY annoying with invisible children.

You got childkiller in Fallout 1? How did you kill the invisible children? Didn't think they could be targeted - or did one of your big guns do some splash damage?

Sadly, GoG uses the UK version iirc, which has children removed. If you want children, you need to use a third party patch. It's pretty easy to find, and should work flawlessy.
Not that there are that many children in FO1 anyway - there's something like 3 in shady sands, and I forgot the rest.

GoG should really supply the uncensored versions of games. Not that they can do that with Fallout now, because Beth.

Invisible children can be killed by attacks going wild, them standing between you/an ally and an enemy when using automatic weapons, or if you throw rockets and grenades around in public.
Huh, that's goofy. Do you see them die when you kill them, or is it just a text notification?

At a guess the only notification would be in text. And the "Childkiller" reputation.

Which I imagine would not only be confusing and annoying, but also extremely unlucky.
