Gmr_Leon: Thanks for this explanation! Saw the sale and noticed that it wasn't registering I already had them, but wasn't sure of whether there was any substantial difference between the two. Looks like I made a good call catching them as they were being removed given the lacking bonuses to be had in the present version.

Weclock: You might find this interesting, prior to the changing of hands of the Fallout license, GOG gave away the Fallout titles for free. :D

Sadly, now you only have the option of paying for these lame Bethesda copies.
Haha, right? My post may have been a little convoluted with the last sentence, but that's what I was clumsily trying to acknowledge taking advantage of. Here's to GOG!

Will the extras from the previous release be added to the new release?

that day was the reason I created a GOG account in the first place, I didnt even have steam yet. been giving GOG all my money since lol
You get a nice looking round gog icon instead of the classic bearded guy's face, that's really the only difference

Doubt it. The extras probably belong to Interplay and were made after Interplay sold Fallout to Bethesda.

..it could be worse (GOG and Bethesda)??

Once I played games from something called Electronic Arts;-P (now; with a suit n' $€€ OH? I mean DLC. OH! Sorry I mean SEASONS pass! Yes they do)
One thing I've noticed - I have Fallout Classic in my library and it provides OS X version (it's bundled with OS X installer and Wine). Looking on Fallout product page, it doesn't provide version for OS X.

I think this is just an example of Bethesda being d*cks. Todd Howard et al have always had a vendetta against anything Apple, so dropping the OS X versions of the classic Fallout games, for no other reason than they can, is pretty much par for the course for these guys. That being said, I still love their games. Granted, I have to use Wine to play them (which is exactly what the GOG ports of the classic fallout games were using) but still.
