Hi, I noticed that Stitch has very weird armor class. It is -29 (red) and -50% damage resistance when wearing no armor, and -9 AC / -25% DR with leather armor mark II. I have just started Quincy mission when I noticed something ain't right. I thought it was some SPECIAL stat that was lowered or something but everything is fine. I tried to remove radiation and use first aid or doctor skill, but this really isn't some normal "debuff".

I tried to start a new game and his stats were all good.
Is there solution for this? It's not like I'm planning to keep Stitch till the end but it's still annoying.
Don't want to start all over again either :(

Maybe he ate some bad food. That could cause a debuff. Some of the "food" you find can have very nasty side effects. Those usually go away after a few hours.
I don't remember eating any food stuff at all, the main reason cause I have no idea what kind of effects they have. It would be obvious rotten stuff ain't good to consume but anyway. I believe time advances when traveling on world map? I had like 10 random encounters but nothing changed.
I started new game again, and just before Quincy mission again on some random encounter I noticed Stitch has armor class of 6 with Leather Armor mk II. This has to be some game bug.

Could be perk related maybe? Both times I picked Salesman and Negotiator perks for Stitch for barter bonus. Yes that's what I use him for anyway. Gonna dump him as soon as some better recruits appear since he is bugged anyway.
Hey,

I'm having the same issue except with the main character - obviously can't ditch him later. My PC has an armor class of -3 and DR of -25% without armor on, everyone else has much more. Has anyone found the solution to this bug? I've seen a few posts on NMA and other places about this but nobody has a solution.

Have to see if that's happening to me as well.

Just piping in that Stitch is one of the characters I never ditch. High int and when I pick comprehension as well as skilled (or whatever it was that gives extra points per level), he's a good all 'rounder. Decent strength for a usable mule as well.

First Aid and Doctor obviously, small arms (+shotgun) make him a workable backup if things get messy. But more to the point, enough points to also pilot, repair, gamble, barter and science through anything the game tosses my way. Those are not essential skills to develop, but it seems prudent to have one high skills semi-non-combatant around who can do those well enough.

But yeah, he seems to be bugged. So start tossing the guy now on...

No. He was just allergic to that specific metal armour, much better now.

tried finding a solution to this as well since i planed to keep stitch the MK 2 metal armor was fine when i put it on him , and then moving weapons and armor around (i keep the people in waiting fully geared in case i want to swap someone out on the fly) i noticed he had AC 6 and everything else as 0 removing the armor put him to negative what the armor should grant , and putting the armor back on just brought him up to default levels.

any other armor only brought him to a higher negative number (if he was -20% DR and the armor did +10% DR then he was still -10% DR) i was hopeing there was a fix or note for this , in case it's the armor itself i got it from the church top left of the map in Quincy
Having the same problem but with other armor.

I wear spiked supermutant armor, and lost AC, resists went to the negative.... Noticed it at the "rescue the reaver leaders" mission.

Seems like an addiction-effect, but even 6 monthes of desert-roaming won't remove it.
The game's editor also can't find the character you're playing with, so can't even check what causes the problem, not to mention fixing it manually.
I suspect the bug is related to wearing Mark II armors, possibly only Metal, maybe Leather too.

The bug does not related to:
- Stitch
- the protagonist
- entering any area (town, bunker, or encounters)
- saving the game
- quitting the game

The bug seems related to:
- mark II armors.
Leather, metal, spiked <- supermutant variant of metal mark II confirmed DR and AC loss.

Confirmed source: saving and reloading. Or maybe changing armor while fighting.

Solution: remove armor before saving.

I have an additional question for AC is the higher the better or is it the lower the better?

The higher the better. You can answer your own question by take off armor in the nude to see your natural armor class, then wearing this or that to see the change in AC.
