Fallout Online/Project: V13 Developments
Interplay and Masthead Studios to Jointly Develop Massively Multiplayer Online Game announces development details about Project: V13, the MMOG widely understood to be Fallout Online, the MMORPG that Interplay retains rights to create, provided it meets certain standards. Word is:
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., April 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Interplay Entertainment Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: IPLY - News) announced today that the company has signed a binding letter of intent with Masthead Studios to fund the development of a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG), code named "Project: V13."
The game has been in design and development at Interplay since November 2007. Masthead and Interplay teams will work together under the direction and control of Interplay to complete development of the project.
As a part of the agreement, the game will utilize Masthead's proprietary tools and MMOG technology developed for Masthead's "Earthrise" project.
Commenting on the announcement, Interplay Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Herve Caen said, "We are looking forward to turning the vision of our game designers into a compelling online gaming experience. The planning and design completed for Project: V13 thus far, combined with Masthead's resources, tools, and growing team of dedicated MMOG developers, will bring this unique game to reality."
Masthead Studios President Atanas Atanasov said, "This arrangement is ideal because it leverages the technology our professionals have specifically built for advanced Massively Multiplayer Online Games into what we expect will be a groundbreaking Interplay gaming title."

Hopefully it won't suck but I don't play MMOs so I'm not likely to find out first hand.
WoW With Nukes is all I can think of when I think of the Fallout MMO.
just one important information, inerplay was able to announce this because the got the money, when they sold licence to fallout they put in agreement that till 2010 or what they can buy back rights for Fallout MMO, and another clausule that if thore rights are sold again, they will get 43% of selling price.
Because bethesda is owned of zenimax, and Blizzard bought zenimax (80% to be exact), rights for F4 are in hands of Blizzard (hooray everyone), interpley got something about 18 000 000 dollars and needed only 8 000 000 more to buy rights back.
And Blizzard is now working on 5 projects:
starcraft 2
diablo 3
another wow datadisc
some new MMO (propably starcraft online)
...
.....
and finaly on fifth unknown and unannounced project, with little luck it will be F4 or another TES game
and except this all, blizzard got their claws on some bethesda MMO rights too, maybe TES online.
Maybe they'll make a giant fan wank game, warcraft vs elder scrolls vs fallout vs starcraft
Sad thing is that it'd sell...

Instead we can have our abominations spewed by Blizzard. Candy colored Fallout? CHECK PLEASE!
why don't give blizzard a chance, they created good games so far (even WoW is good game if you look on number of players).

Blizzard might have made some decent action RPGs but making a proper Fallout RPG might be beyond them. Of course, this is just my opinion and it is not to be taken as anything resembling a fact.

yes but unlike bethesda they are not money hungry jerks that think all gamers are 12 year olds that play for points.
blizzard scrapped lots of good projects because they didnt like "how they feel".
they really do care about their products, and for that i respect them.

A fallout game from blizzard would certainly be better than anything bethesda could do but i honestly wonder if they get the people to make a real rpg and not some diablo with nukes, to shamless copy judas post.

To me, it would be like taking a well-known and loved literary body of work and giving it an entirely different author. Sure, the new author might be talented, but he/she will have their own style and that will be reflected in the end result.
For an example of this, please read the Dune books that were not authored by Frank Herbert himself...
not a chance, i will never read those dune books, i love only first one.
back to topic, i know that even Lizzards can't do the good old fallout, but after seeing and playing bethesda's Foblivion, I will be hapy for anything better.
You are mistaken, Blizzard didn't buy ZeniMax. It has nothing to do with it. You might be confusing it with Activision. ZeniMax is independently owned.
