I installed the GOG version of Fallout 2 and then installed the updated version of the Restoration Project. LINK HERE

Now, the sticky topic in this discussion forum for Fallout 2 MODs includes a post by Rysa with a link to an unofficial patch with this description: “Killap's Unofficial Fallout 2 Patch - This patch has been in production for several years now and it fixes well over 800+ bugs left in the game since the official 1.02 patch.” However, that link is dead, and I also can’t find anything like it anymore on the NMA (No Mutants Allowed) website.

My question is: Does the updated restoration project include the bug fixes mentioned above?

FYI: Attached is the version information I see on the main screen of my Fallout 2 installation.

Killap's patches can be downloaded from http://killap.net/. Both unofficial patch and restoration project. Unofficial patch is just bug fixes without new content. Restoration Project includes the bug fixes + new content. Both are a bit old at this point. The updated variants that you link to just build on top of killap's patches.

Thanks for the reply; I sincerely appreciate it!

So, in 'n nutshell, if I already have Restoration Project Updated installed, I don't need the Unofficial Patch by Killap, too, since those exact same bug fixes of the UP are already included with RPU?

Correct, if you have RPU you don't need the unofficial patch, those fixes are included in RPU.
Wonderful. I don't mind the fact that, by this time, these things are a bit old. The enormous amount of bugs fixed subsequent to the official patches is still more than worth it.
By the way, as I was waiting for your last reply, I did in fact conduct a little experiement on a separate copy of F2 to see what happens if I install the UP and then try installing RPU, but fortunately the developers were smart enough to include a check for that and prevent one from doing it.

At least, this is the case when using the installer; not sure what would happen if going about it using the manual method.

Just finished the GOG version of the game in 2024... I have never played a game that was so good and yet had so many game-breaking bugs.

I have no idea why GOG would sell this version when it seems like there is a clearly supeior version out there --- OR at least include the option to download the patched version in the menu so we notice it before getting through 60 hours of bug-ridden gameplay.
