The German release of Fallout 1 & 2 back in the 90s had been strictly censored in a way to prevent indexing on the market. This resulted in the non-appearance of children or gore/splatter graphics altogether. It also resulted in broken quest lines. Luckily the players stood up against the censorship and delivered a blood patch to address those issues.

Sadly, the "new" release by Bethesda hitting gog this week still misses all that stuff, making the German version some dozen megs lighter in file size.

So for anyone planning to play the German version of these two games, I recommend to install the blood patch, as you will not regret it. It can be found here.

Just copy the "data" folder in your fallout 1/2 directory and be done with it, no need for the .exe files. Oh, and the "patch000.dat" has to be replaced as well, iirc. It should be the only file that has to be replaced, as the rest is simply missing.

The Link is down and the File seems to have vanished.
Does anyone still have it?
It's still on archive's wayback machine.
