Hi all,
I'm running Vista Ultimate x64 with an ATI Radeon HD 4850 with latest drivers (v. 9.9). Expendable will run fine, but after a couple of seconds slows down badly, almost to a frozen state, making the game unplayable. Any suggestions please? Thanks in advance for your help.
Tried running as Admin?? You won't believe the amount of weird crap running as Admin has cured for me regarding older games...
Nothing improves by running it as admin. I 've also tried disabling UAC and DEP for that program. No go...
Also: happens on another computer with a Geforce GTX260 on Vista x64 Ultimate. Weird, it's not even the card's / driver's fault....

No progress so far. Anyone has the same issue on Vista 64-bit? I checked it on a laptop running Vista 32-bit the other day and it ran fine...
Tried the different windows compatibility settings? Like setting it to run in windows xp mode or windows 98/me?

What features other then vista ultimate x64 do the two computer share? Like do they have the same sound cards etc?
Also if you haven't done so already you may want to contact gog support with your problem.

They have the same mobo, an ASUS P5K. By the way, I just tested it on Windows 7 and the problems persists. I've also contacted support but there's no response yet.

I'm using AVG Free but the slowdown occurs even without an antivirus running. I checked it after a fresh install o f Windows 7.

Actually I had the same problem too. I am running Vista with a Intel Dual Core 4500 and a ATI Radeon™ HD 2400 PRO.
I think the problem may be to do with my gamepad (Saitek P380 Dual Analog), as the game seems to run fine when it is not plugged in. Interestingly, I can't actually configure my gamepad in the options screen.
Anyone else having the same experience?

I'm having similar problems running 32-bit Vista with an 8800GT - even at 640x480, shortly after starting, the frame rate goes to 7 FPS, and sometimes goes as low as 1. I'm still trying some of the suggested solutions, and I'll update this if I find something that works, but no success getting it to work better so far.
i have the same probleme on windows 7-64bit... but after a réinstalation unde windows 7-32 bit with the lastest driver the game work corectly...
