TheeJakemeister: Has anyone found a fix yet for the game crashing on a windows 11 desktop. My game refuses to start no matter what I try and only loads up the initial game logo before crashing. I have tried virtually every method from compatibility changes to downloading the patches. Please help! Thanks!

Hi! I found the solution to that error !
Here's what you need to do:
-Right click on "Empires.exe" and click on "Properties"
-Click on the "Compatibility" tab
-At the bottom, click on "Change settings for all users"
-Select "Run this program in compatibility mode for WINDOWS XP SERVICE PACK 3"
-Select "Run this program as an administrator"
-Click on "Change high DPI settings" and then select "Override high DPI scaling behavior" and choose "System (Enhanced)" from the list.
From there, click on OK then APPLY (important!) then launch Empires.exe !
Don't forget to go in the game settings and put good graphics and sounds!
Your game might not start the next time you launch it, so you just need to re-do the method I described. Even if everything appears to be selected, just un-select and re-select and it'll start !
