Souslov: I call our QA team Romanians because they are from Romanian company. I'm really eager to know why you are so prejudiced about Romanian people, because it's a very lovely country and very nice people live there. Is it something personal?
Honestly, we both know that you mean these idiots http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5_AfFF2vWU
Can you answer to proper question?

I would like to thank Souslov for posting here. I am sure you and your team are very busy these days and as someone who has pre-ordered, I cannot wait to sample the fruits of your labor.

I would like to know if the game is still scheduled for an April 19th release on GOG and Steam? If it will not be ready by then, that is ok with me. I would just like to be aware of the scheduling.

Of note-There may be a language barrier or a cultural barrier between some posters here; I do not know, but it may be shading the responses of some. I see some terms being used that are offensive to some Americans and others that may be offensive to people of another ethnicity or culture. I know everyone here is an adult, and I would be reluctant to tell another adult how to talk or communicate, but I hope that we can continue or discussion without insulting each other, or anyone else for that matter.

I think Souslov has made a greatly appreciated gesture by coming here and posting. I hope that this will allay some concerns and allow him and his team to finish their work, knowing that his customer base is satisfied spending their money on his product.

Really appreciate your support!

Regarding the questions Gremlion asked:

- New resolution for Genesis - it's quite complicated task because we need to re-draw all the elements from the scratch several times. Because we are a small team of 10 people, I'm afraid to make any ETA for this task.

- Strategic multiplayer for the MotBW - in fact, we are still keeping this in mind, I hope, we can add it in a few weeks. And now we are fully concentrated on tactical multiplayer - the Internet battle is the entire essence of “Eador”, condensed into one combat, so we believe it's really important to make it in a right way..

- Multiplayer for Genesis - really doubt we can see it in 2013, it's still doable but requires a lot of resourses.

Souslov: I have played every Paradox title since EU2 and can hardly remember any of them which could be "playable" during their first week. It's not my excuse, it's just the reality — for niche developers it's very hard to provide a final quality product from the launch date. They need some time to get it right. Does this fact affect the quality of 'Mount & Blade' or 'Hearts of Iron' as a game in general? I really doubt it.
That's why I no longer buy Paradox titles at release. HoI2/Victoria1 was the golden age of Paradox. Now their games need many expansions to become decent.
I don't want to wait for DLCs/expansion to begin to play a game.

Souslov: We can't even postpone the release anymore, because there soon will be a new Heroes 6 add-on, Fallen Enchantress: LH and Age of Wonders 3 as well.
Hey you're on GOG here. We don't care about DRMed games: Heroes6 and F.Enchantress do not exist. About AoW3 I'm not aware about shit in it, but I guess it will be included.
So, your game have more time.

avatar
Souslov: No doubt about it, we want to support the game as long as possible.
Sure. It depends of what defines 'possible': roubles?

Lol just because you don't buy games with drm doesn't mean there aren't people who do. TBS is already a niche genre good luck trying to get back the years worth of development costs while trying to compete with 3 blockbusters of the genre. Grim reality is they have no choice but to release asap.

P.S.: Although I must admit I wouldn't be too scared of heroes 6 expansion. Game was bad, has always on-line drm and the so called expansion is just adding the dungeon faction. Really ubisoft ? You're selling dungeon faction for 30$ ? GL with that.

Wel, I probably agree with you here, I mean I still love HoI 2 and Victoria 1 more than HoI 3 and Vic2. Though in my case it can be just a 'those were the days' feeling :)

Souslov: Hi there!

avatar
EvilLoynis: Sadly, this is not a lie. They are THAT greedy. Souslov, producer, even said that he wanted to leave only 3 endings in release and sell other as DLCs.
avatar
Souslov: And last but not the least - the demonic greed of disputed developers. You know, the only reason we could start Eador's production is that we have been a successful local publisher in Russia. We have earned some money selling Disney's products and could earn much more if we turned to the brilliant world of social games and mobile apps with Winnie and his friends. We went into PC turn-based strategy instead, with a vague chance to even recoup our production costs. We can't even postpone the release anymore, because there soon will be a new Heroes 6 add-on, Fallen Enchantress: LH and Age of Wonders 3 as well. There really is no place for greedy bastards. Or, at least, there can be enough space for greedy morons, but are we? It's still discussable :)
You know I really wouldn't mind being "Quoted" if I was the one that actually said what you have me saying. Not sure how my name got inputted there when it's Gremlions quote.

This on top of the fact that I apparently never got to participate in the beta when I sent in the emails twice.

so did they fixed anything from there? Or all things still in game? will dlc fix all this? or its all fine and no problem to devs? im unclear...

Sorry for that - my fault indeed!
Thanks for the info! :) Can't wait to play the game. :)

I can't wait to play the game either. BUT as they say here in north america " The proof is in the pudding". ;)
So, assuming souslov isn't actually lieing to us, then snowbird aren't going to 'take the money and run' after tomorrow...

Other than that I don't see any sign that they have been the wrong developer to take eador forward. Looks to me like they've been doing exactly what the game needs and no more (which is a mistake so many make).

I haven't had time to beta so what am I missing from here?

I want eador with a modern engine that keeps the art style of genesis.. and from videos mtbw looks beautiful.

And the campaign will be shorter with more variety (desert worlds... not just green green green) which was about the only other thing i wanted in my eador.

@souslov, do you see much audience crossover with eador and homm?

I didn't take much interest in eador when I first saw news on the russian game as I assumed it was just a low budget homm, when I realized it played much more like Dominions (very very similar) and Paradox games, that's when I changed my mind.
So far read this thread and I'm shocked: Shocked about the disrespect and hard words between users, against the developers and the product itself. True so far that everybody wants a game without major bugs and issues, but ladies and gentlemen ... with this phrases? We are talking about a GAME, a medium giving us joy and happiness. Whenever somebody is searching for the perfect game I could only answer: "Build it yourself!"

Last but not least: Lets play and enjoy what is upcoming. I am counting hours and minutes on work!

throgh: Whenever somebody is searching for the perfect game I could only answer: "Build it yourself!"
Alexey Bokulev already did that, and we got Eador: Genesis! Thats why I am so skeptical of Broken World, its following up perfection.

Anyway, I love that they are still working on Genesis. Didn't know new resolutions and multiplayer is planned for that.
My first gog.com post.

All I know is I bought "Eador: Genesis" on a whim a few months ago and absolutely could not have loved it more.

The moment I saw the new game advertised I knew I wanted to buy it, and as soon as I got my next paycheck, I immediately pre-ordered it (something I have never actually done before, for any game, and I own hundreds).

Thank you for posting, Souslov, I really appreciate it. Here's one gamer who is completely ready to play your game, no matter what state it's in upon release. I'm ready!
