Between levels, (the blue hallway) press F1, and then S.

I am playing on a mac, when I press F1 it just controls my screen brightness. :/

Okay, there's a solution to that. Press CTRL+F1 to open the Dosbox remapper and set the key to something else to make up for the baffling choice of key.

Using a laptop, by any chance? Does your keyboard show alternate functions on your function keys? This is the case with my Windows laptop (and most others, though I don't know about Apple laptops), and I have an extra button on my keyboard labeled 'Fn' (if it exists on your Mac, it might be called something else) that I have to hold if I want to use F1. (Or I would have to if I hadn't reversed that setting, making it so I don't have to hold 'Fn' every time I want to use a function key, but I do whenever I want to -- for example -- toggle the touchpad or change the screen brightness.)

Glad to hear! =)
Nevermind, this wasn't a question thread.
