This is a guide will tell you how to install Duke Nukem 3D Atomic as well as its official expansions Duke Caribbean: Life's A Beach, Duke: Nuclear Winter, Duke It Out In D.C and DukeZone II.

GOG's Duke Nukem 3D Atomic never had any of the addons. Megaton and the DOS version on Steam had the official addons. World Tour did not have them, but does have an extra episode exclusive to that version that does not currently work correctly with EDuke32. DOS Duke from Steam also has DukeZone II included which none of the others had.

It will cover EDuke32 installation from either GOG/Steam's Duke Nukem 3D, Megaton, World Tour or the original CDs if you still have them.

1) Download EDuke32 from here.

If on Mac then download it from here.

EDuke32 is only available natively on Windows or Mac. However you can build it yourself if on Linux from following these instructions.

2. Put EDuke32 (unzip it if you downloaded it) into a folder on your system. It doesn't matter where or what the folder is called.

3. Install Duke Nukem 3D from GOG or download the DOS version, Megaton or World Tour from Steam.

For the CD based Atomic version just insert the CD into your CD drive and then go to it. (Make sure to right click on your CD drive and click 'Open' as its an enhanced audio CD so it will play music otherwise.) Now go to the folder called 'ATOMINST' and find the file called DUKE3D.GRP. Copy this file to your EDuke32 directory. You can now remove the CD.

For GOG or Steam normal Duke Nukem 3D, navigate to the Duke Nukem 3D install folder defaulted to (C:\GOG Games\Duke Nukem 3D) Or (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Duke Nukem 3D\). Then find the file called DUKE3D.GRP and copy that to your EDuke32 directory.

For Megaton Duke Nukem 3D, navigate to the Megaton install folder defaulted to (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Duke Nukem 3D\gameroot). Then find the file called duke3d.grp and copy that to your EDuke32 directory.

For World Tour Duke Nukem 3D, navigate to the World Tour install folder defaulted to (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Duke Nukem 3D Twentieth Anniversary World Tour). Then find the file called DUKE3D.GRP and copy that to your EDuke32 directory.

4. Double click on EDuke32.exe, make sure that Duke Nukem 3D is selected in the Game section in the window that pops up. Then click start when ready. Duke Nukem 3D should then start.

If you don't want the addons then you can finish here and remove the copy of Duke Nukem 3D you installed. If you want the addons then read on.

Nuclear Winter

For the CD based Nuclear Winter just insert the CD into your CD drive and then go to it. Now go to the folder called 'GAMEDATA' and find the file called NWINTER.GRP. Copy this file to your EDuke32 directory. You can now remove the CD.

Then insert the CD into your CD drive and then go to it. Now go to the folder called 'VACATION' and find the file called VACA15.SSI. Copy this file to where you extracted the patcher. Now run patch.bat. Copy the newly created GRP file to your EDuke32 directory. You can now remove the CD, and delete the patcher.

For Steam normal Duke Nukem 3D, navigate to the Duke Nukem 3D install folder defaulted to (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Duke Nukem 3D\). Then find the file called DUKE!ZON.GRP and copy that to your EDuke32 directory

If installed correctly when you double click on eduke32. exe you should see loads of entries under the game section of the window that pops up. Just select which one you want to play and click 'Start'. You can create a shortcut to eduke32.exe on your desktop if you wish. You can now remove Duke Nukem 3D if you installed it and want to.
