There's also a list of award winning holds just in case that you don't know which ones you should try.

I have another issue now and that is a bit nasty. I downloaded all but can't easily see which ones I can use in which version. Are they backwards compatible, i.e. can I use DROD 1+2 holds in 3?

I've never played any of the user created holds, so I can't say. But I assume that you have to use them with the right version. You can see which version they are made for when you hover the mouse over the small picture in the 'version' column.

There isn't any easy way without looking it up on the internet?

Don't know. Did you simply try to start one of the holds with any version of DROD? Maybe they are compatible with all of the games and you don't even need the info.

Edit: Ok, I just checked with the Architect's Edition (the only version I had installed on this computer). You can at least not play newer holds with an older version of the game. Game will recognize the file, but not import the rooms. Which means you can try to import the files and will see if it works (not the easiest way either, but a way to check without using the internet).

They are backwards compatible, so you can just import them all into DROD 3. You won't be able to play holds made for DROD 4 or 5 though -- they'll fail to import.

You can download the demo versions of DROD 4 and 5 from Caravel's website. Usermade holds should work with that.

BTW, according to Mike Rimer's post on Caravel forums, DROD 4 should appear on GOG very soon. DROD 5 will appear too, but later.
