I am having the same problem. Massive discoloration. Everything is dayglow. :(

Have you guys tried downloading and running Xtended a mod for Die By the Sword that updates the engine to Direct3d9 and loads textures in full 32 bit quality?? Maybe that might be a workaround for those of you with the severe discoloration issues...

Sure. I should have earlier, just being lazy
Dell Dimension e521
Windows 7 pro 64 RTM
AMD x2 64 5200 2.60ghz
Radeon x1550 256MBram
4Gb Ram
I have some more trouble shooting to do. Updated drivers already, no go.
Going to reinstall directx
then try that patch Judis suggests.

Installed the patch and it worked perfectly. Now I can actually play the game. Its fun!

Seriously, how on earth is this happening?
We have 3 quite different systems with the same issue.
But thanks for Xtended, I was so uninterested in 3rd party mods I didn't check what it actually does. Will try it :x

Am so glad I'll finally get to finish this game.

Mark it, not because I care about the rep or anything, the solution might show up on the support page and help someone else out with this same problem. Besides, who knows how long GOG will take to fix this issue?? Not saying that they are slow about it, but they probably have a million things going on simultaneously...

I honestly doubt GOG will look into this again, but it would be awesome if they would.

Just got the game and am having the same problem described by the OP. I am running Windows 7, so I'm not sure if it's supported here. I get the severe discolouration which seems to be solved by the opening cinematic.
I tried using the mod listed above as a fix, but it crashed out when trying to launch the game with the Direct 3D graphics settings.
Any thoughts?

Did you correctly install the DirectX components and framework mentioned on the site?

The Xtended mod does not work on my computer.

When I launch it I get The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142) error.

Any other solutions?
