I've already played many games on IPX (LAN) via Hamachi, but after today's update diablo classic sends me "Unable to initialize connection method" each time i try to start a new game on IPX... any solutions ? I touched nothing on my computer... I can still connect via Diablo "GOG" but i can't select my character from there....

No i'm not using any program... this is very strange we've allways played via IPX hamachi since the GOG release... it's been after the last patch that stopped working... the most strange thing is that the "deluxe" edition is still working on IPX ! :S

Move your save game from the main Diablo folder to the DX folder, then you can continue from the GOG version.

I had same problem which only started recently. I fixed it by downloading ipxwrapper-0.6.1.zip from here

and then putting mwsock.dll and wsock32.dll into the Diablo game directory
