Happy New Year to you all!

I am considering buying Deponia 4, because I had much fun playing the first 3 episodes and because it is now available for next to nothing. But I heard that there are time critical elements in this game, riddles that you have to solve using a quick reaction. Actually, I am not very good at these kind of reaction tests. That's one reason why I don't play first person shooters and the like.

Is there a way to get around these riddles in Deponia 4, to skip them? Or is there a patch that can be applied?

If not, this game will be useless to me. :(

I guess not. No mods. There is indeed such stages. They mostly about moving, not require too much dealing with some staff, provide enough time. Not require reaction like shooters.
But probably still it can be too much for you...

I am too old. Not so fast in RTS, shooters and even in arcade racing (Crash Team Racing - on gamepad ofc). I did very good perfect play, some tricks, no-damage-run and any like that... but now... Still im average at offline RTS and very bad at online. Or not so good at one singleplayer rts - They Are Billions.

Deponia point-n-click anyway easier at that. It give some time to you. And me - im ok with that. Still mostly chill game. Maybe it even plot related and supposed to have enough time to end right when... at one stage you need sneaky -follow someone and time go out right when both characters get where they should. Or vise versa hide from someone. And just wait when them go out. More like Resident Evil games finale stages. Its unlikely you lose there cause of timer, and here you unlikely lose at all. Like in RE you already open all doors solve almost all puzzles deal with all threats and need just go further. Maybe get somewhere once-two on the way make very easy actions... You need combine two items in inventory when time be in action, but since this game is about time travel you already know what to do there and need just calmly repeat what you already did recently. No real puzzle solving there.

There is also stage completely time unlimited but looks like it limited like in Trilogy - at beginning with Tutorial there is enemies chasing you. You need close the door. There is no timer there, but you need just click a bit faster like in some flash-games. That scene can be more harder than actual time limited stages. But maybe it was skippable... I guess not, but time stages unskippable for sure.

If you can play it a little bit faster than in Deponia 3 - you ok with D4. And only few times.

D4 is more repeatative than Deponia 3rd, with time travelling.

Thanks for sharing this detailed and extensive experience and opinion of yours! :)

The price of 2 Euros that this game is now available for don't bother me. What bothers me is the possibility to get stuck somewhere in the middle after having much fun so far, which will then turn into frustration.

I will give it a try after your description. Thanks again! :)
