It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I'm not finding any changelogs online on the part of the developer's, either, but maybe this is too new, that happens sometimes (also, it was impossible to find anything but Deponia 2 sites when I looked for "2.0" so I told google to drop any results with "Deponia 2". That might have screwed things up.)
Ok, just to be on the absolutely safe side here.

I see that there are a lot of language options, but the size of the installation files doesn't change no matter what language you pick (i.e. language name changes in the files' names).

Do I understand it correctly that all I need to do is to download the upgraded installation files in the language I'd like to perform the installation itself (for example German) and that after installation this new integrated Multilanguage Tool will let me choose audio and sub languages?

Thanks ahead.

EDIT: typo

Yes, thats the way it works.

Ok then, mission accomplished. Thanks :-)
So has anybody found a real change log for this yet? Or, for that matter, what the changes are between version 2.0 that was announced, and version 2.1 which is what GOG is offering for download?

No, version 2.1 is just the GOG installer. The game versions are 2.0. Related wishes: GOG releases & version number.

I would warn against this update (at least for Deponia 2) if you've already started playing, since I installed it and now the game won't shut up.

It will constantly play a sample over and over. Moving to another scene doesn't help, it merely changes the language of the sample. The english file sounds like Doc saying "Hey", but I'm not sure. The other languages I have no clue, but assume it's the same.

Talking to a character doesn't help, moving to another scene doesn't help (though in some scenes the sound doesn't play, but I think that has to do with something else), loading a previous save file doesn't help, restarting the game doesn't help and neither does reinstalling it.

I think it borked my savefiles. Hadn't come very far into it, but still a pain to have to start over just because of this.

Silly question but are you using saves from a previous version of Deponia?
I started playing Chaos on Deponia just recently, before the most recent patch/update. Then I saw the game was updated and downloaded the updated installer and ran that, afterwhich the described issues appeared. If that's what you mean, then yes.

Could you try a clean playthrough without using saves from a previous game? I think due to the fact that the Deponia games did get an engine upgrade there may be an issue with saves from the older version.
I pretty much have to it seems. I'm not going to put up with this nonsense: http://youtu.be/y2VoA793Wcw for an entire playthrough. Starting a new game seems to not have these issues, but it's early to say for sure, and I'm not feeling like starting over today. Even though I hadn't gotten very far, as stated.

Edit: Played up to the same part and so far no issues, so seems like it's old save files causing the issue for some reason.

Penquin: Well yes, but I mean more is it anything substantial. "Upgraded engine" and "various bug fixes" don't actually tell us what changes were made. Upgraded engine could mean anything from light optimization to to completely rewritten rendering code, and various bug fixes doesn't tell us what bugs are fixed.

Gydion: Very true. In this particular case Judas pleads complete ignorance on the particulars.
My little Judas is doing his job a zillion times better than you could do ANY job in the world, even if you were just sitting on a chair.
The guy is smart, helpful and always there. And to be honest, he is very tall, strong and hot. Severel times he saved the world, but no one knows, cause he´s a shy one. :)

Judas go on!

So are there any other changes except the multilanguage tool?
avatar
Prian: What about german?
avatar
JudasIscariot: No German for German-made games!

(I am kidding, it's still there :P )
The download tab is listing a separate installer for each language but is there actually a difference between them or is it always the same file?

I downloaded "Windows installer, German", and after the installation I selected German as both spoken and written language, and the menu, subtitles and voiceovers are in German, but the intro is still using the text of the English version, e.g. "Daedalic Entertainment presents a game by" instead of "Daedalic präsentiert ein Spiel von", and - more importantly - it's listing the English voice actors instead of the German ones ... (Monty Arnold does not deserve remaining unmentioned in the German version!)

As for the installers, yes, it's all the same file as it contains all the languages in one installer. As for the intro, I am not sure we can do anything about that :/
