So, why is it doing so and messing up entire icon placement on desktop and other stuff? I see no need for killing explorer.exe...

Stopping explorer to run an older game like Dark Reign will prevent wrong colors or rainbow colors on the graphics during the game.

Yeah, I noticed my folders all got closed when I started the game, you can actually run DK without killing explorer, but the colors are inverted

Unless you use this little file I made (not tested on Windows 8 yet but that method seems to work there too).

Dark Reign Color Fix
Thanks.
Do I just unzip the fix to the Dark Reign folder r to a specific folder within the Dark Reign folder?

Edit: Apparently not. Ok I downloaded the 1.7 patch and am still having the same problem. I unzipped the color fix to the 1.7 folder and it is not working. Does anyone have any idea how do fix the problem besides praying GOG does an update that solves the issue?
