my guess is probably something like this:

My guess is that the minimum will be at the very least bottom of mid-grade hardware. CDPR did say that they were working on optimazation from the very start to make harware limitations not too much of a problem.

Cant play 3d games , but this one looks very cool. if the ingame animations moves as fluid as the movie , WOW !!!
ofcourse the recomm. will be xtreme

you go up to an i7 and a 70 series GPU as a minimum requirement you'd be cutting out a huge chunk of the potential player base. Steams hardware survey has 15% of users running a 1060. That's a lot of market share to loose.

I thought the question was what do you think this game might require to run the game, thats why i replied with such high requirements, its not that i would want them to be this high.
Judging by the videos it looks heavy and to prevent sad faces i picked reasonable high performance parts.

Anyway, i think that maybe the system i want to assemble would do as a minimum

Its hard to make a decision, also want to make sure i wont waste cash again, i need a pc i can really work with for at least 4 to 6 years

The parts mentioned above will cost between 800 euro and 1000 euro, CPU and GPU are the expensive parts, rest is relatively cheap :D ( win10 can be bought pretty cheap)

mobo + 16 gb ram + win 10 + a coolermaster case + 2 new hardrives, + DVD burner, + PSU, extras fans and coolers and a monitor switch and convertor for VGA will cost 300 Euro or so ( cheap cause you get a lot of items)

It looks expensive but 1500 bucks in total spread over 15or 16 months is around 80 or 90 bucks to save a month 90/30 days is only 3 $ or euro a day, even a nice cup of coffee and a donut are more expensive.

If people have more hobbies like going to the movies, and like to buy a drink, go on a holiday, have a car or bike or motorcycle to maintain, they will have a problem, if they also smoke ( a lot of wasted $ )

Anyway, since i dont do any of them :D saving 3$ aday or 90 a month is peanuts and quite affordable :D

They have to sell the game to more than 2% of the site's base. A game with 16+ GB RAM minimum requirement? No (not for another 2-3 years at least).

No, just kidding ofcourse :D i was replying when you wrote this, check the post above this one, i explain how anyone can save 1000 to 2000 $ :D by having NO other hobbies, dont drink, no movies ( netflix is cheaper)

Still, while I have a PC that more than fulfills your "minimum", the point is that the game needs to sell. The grand mayority of gamers will not drop that kind of money on hardware. Also, take into account that you are listing top-of-the-line parts, which are (proportionally to their performance) much more expensive, and are usually not listed in game reqs.

The game is coming out on current gen consoles, so it should be playable with a 1060 and a quad core cpu

Yep. My target is 30 FPS at 1080. With my Ryzen 1600 and 1050 TI, and after turning a setting or two from ULTRA to HIGH, I expect to achieve much more than that. Given also that the game is DirectX12 (at least I suspect so) and renders a city and interiors, should be comparable to The Witcher.

My guess is that a 1070 will probably be in the recommendations, with a 1060 being minimum. Maybe a 1050 Ti, but I doubt it. Though, just because it isn't listed as minimum, doesn't mean it won't work well with settings turned down.

Let's be realistic here, the release is 10 months away, even the most recent mid-range card, which is the 1660Ti would be over a year old at that time. Discussing whether or not CDPR will have even older cards in mind just doesn't make much sense.

I'm half expecting not being able to run the game at 1080p above mixed mid/high settings with my 1660Ti if I want to cap at 60 FPS and it would be unreasonable of me to get pissed about it (I probably will get pissed anyway).

As far as CPU and RAM goes, again, 10 months from now everyone should be expected to have 16 gigabytes of RAM in their _gaming_ computer targeted at single player AAA gaming, and a CPU with at least the performance of the Ryzen 5 2600. If you have less than that, prepare for sub optimal AAA _gaming_ performance/experience. Whether or not you can run Fortnite on much less than this is completely beside the point.

You are 100% right on that, i would not spend it either , but since i mainly play casual games i have get at least a build like the one i described, its an expensive one but 90% of the casualgames are poorly written, so i need that power, a decent AAA game is usually better in handling hardware, casualgames is 40 in a dozen, and imo always use unlimited fps , thats why my quad core is 'sweating', because many casual game developers just seem to code without thinking about performance.

Anyway the fact i need to spend that much, which will cost me 2 arms , one leg and maybe a knee aswell :D shows and proves many casualgames are written in a click n play style ( multimedia fusion, gamemaker, and more drag n drop creation tools, and the use of 'inferior' 'languages' like python ( i have 2 or 3 games and they burn rubber)
java ( Pathway ) and the visioniare and wintermute , all 'horrible' ways to develop a proper running game.... and 40% of all Unity games are a nightmare aswell, thats why i hope the i7 and a decent 1060 6 or 8 GB gpu might help me( i doubt it but i have to do something)

I doubt that they did any precise predictions about what graphics cards could do when they release the game. Doesn't make any sense at all, especially when you have to run it on a console. 1060 with 6 gigs will beat to death any console (maybe except xbox one x). Of course PC users tend to get more eye candy, but lets be honest - it is borderline placebo. People play Battlefield V on ULTRA at 60 fps on 7-8 years old 4 core mainstream CPUs with RX590. I play it at 35 fps on average with few settings turned down to HIGH or MEDIUM and could do better if they had adequate DirectX12 renderer, or if I turn on frame pre-rendering on expense of input latency (which doesn't matter in non-competitive games anyway) .

System requirements depend on personal preferences. As I said 30fps at FullHD with graphics settings in the higher range make me happy.
