Cyberpunk 2077 is a joke !
I installed it 2 weeks ago on my PC and so far, it crashed 147 times!!!

The most frequent crashes are :
- internal kraken decompression error
- EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION: the thread attempted to write to an inaccessible address

I must say that it shows how sloppy some developers are when errors such as EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION happen so frequently (well, the game is mind blowing, but still: it still has some major memory management problems).
I've played many games and none crashed before or very few times...

I have an i9-13900K, with Asus Maximus z790 Hero, Gskill DDR5 7600MHz and RTX 3090 24 GB VRAM

I checked pretty much every post thread about "Cyberpunk flatlined) and did everything:
- It's up to date with 1.63: I bought it on GOG and started playing after 1.63 was released
- No XMP overclock, running at base speed (4800 MHz)
- No unnecessary app running
- GPU and all Drivers and BIOS up to date (latest released versions of all)
- Tried to run Cyberpunk with and without mods installed. All mods up to date
- Restart PC when it crashes too many times in a row
- Disabled nahimic service (known to generate crashes in some games)
- Disabled NVIDIA Geforce experience overlay
- Run the Verify/Repair install

Then when I launch it :
- It crashes 2 or 3 times upon startup, then finally decides to start
- If I launch a new game, it start fine, but crashes a lot
- If I try to load a saved game : it almost systematically crashes several times if I load the latest saved game, or one in the list of previously saved games.
- At some point, maybe after 5 or 6 tries, it finally decides to start
- I can play for a couple of minutes, and it crashes again
- Sometimes, maybe thanks to a divine intervention, I can play! Those are the times when I can get to play the game (I'm now about 2/3rd of the main story in)

Example today :
- I've been trying to play for almost 1hr : crashes upon startup 3 times, then I tried to launch a saved game about 25 times... it crashes right away almost every time, except 2 times where I could play for about 1 minutes before it crashes

How can it be of such a poor quality even if the game was released 2 or 3 years ago :(
To be honest, it is really cool... when it finally works... But quite frankly, I won't buy Phantom Liberty, it's not fun to spend 1 to 1.5 hours almost each time to get the game to start... and be frightened about corrupted saved games... and the risk of having to restart it from scratch... until maybe I'd have to restart it from scratch again because of corrupted saved games...

Have you been using the internal installer or the backup offline installer? I think all of the downloads are damaged/corrupted right now. As of today I cannot even download the game through GoG without getting a failed download or when I run the the file integrity check before install I'm getting 17.bin, 18.bin and 19.bin showing up as being damaged. I think these are all tied into the internal installer as well through the GoG launcher, so it's possible if you are installing it this way it's a damage install. Even the 28.part files are not working from the website download. Whatever they updated this last time for us to download install got broken somewhere along the way. Good luck with support, I just kept getting the bot runaround and when I finally got asked to submit a dxdiag report it would not let me upload it.
Same problem for me.

Using the integrity files check from the installer, I get the error message for files 17/18/19. These 3 files are corrupt directly on the server. That's why if fails to download the offline installer from the GOG galaxy.

setup_cyberpunk_2077_1.63_hotfix_(64bit)_(65540)-17.bin
setup_cyberpunk_2077_1.63_hotfix_(64bit)_(65540)-18.bin
setup_cyberpunk_2077_1.63_hotfix_(64bit)_(65540)-19.bin

Are corrupt and have to be fixed on the server.

LoloWiwi: - EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION: the thread attempted to write to an inaccessible address
I had issue's with my new Intel Rig too and found a rare case where the memory controller on 12th and 13th generation are sometimes weak, especially with DDR5 XMP and high frequency.

Even if you disabled XMP, it still can be the issue.

I have 13700KF with DDR5-6000 CL30 GSkill and had crashes with and without XMP. The solution was so simple, i couldn't believe it. Just push slightly the Voltage for the Memory Controller und the Memory itself.

Also my NZXT N7 Z790 had an to small offset for AVX workloads, as Cyperpunk makes use of that too. I tested that with y-cruncher, to make sure AVX is stable.

Hope that helps!
I had the same error on my System (13900K and RTX 4090).

It was a stability issue. I checked my system with OCCT and detected 2 problems:

- "Interal Kraken decompression error, code: 0": That was a weak core (Core #0). I set the max ratio to 53. Additional voltage not solving the problem...
- "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)": Here was my DDR5-6000 the problem. I switched from XMP 1 to XMP 2. Lower frequency (DDR5-5600), 1.25V instead of 1.35V and other timings are also working.
