hi I had this issue, installed the package above and it loads but the same thing happens, just a black filtered screen after selecting the character...

usernox: I managed to get it working, I think by installing mono ( just google for mono project, I can't post links ). Tried some other things as well (installing unity, changing firewall rules), but only after the mono installation it worked. This feels quite similar to the days I had to develop something using .NET and you had to provide the right VC++ redistributable...
Worked like a charm. thx

gpulido: Thanks, I had the same issue running on Win7. Installed *both* VC2013 redist packages (x86 *and* x64) and now the game runs fine.
This worked for me too. Thank you.

gamaral: Notice: You need to install "Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013" no need to install full Mono.

GalaxyCSharpGlue.dll is missing two libraries provided by said redistirbutable packages.
This worked for me where installing Mono didn't. The link I used was: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=40784

Try installing visual c++ see other comment down
Seems this is still happening, I am also stuck on the 'grainy black screen' - on a fairly new gaming laptop with Windows 11.

I've tried all the solutions I could find; installing/updating Mono, Visual c++ and DX, running it in compatibility/administrator mode. I've also tried adding a system variable as suggested on the GoG support page about game not launching on intel 10th generation or newer.

No changes :(
