Same with me. I updated hoping that it would fix the amount of bugs but it seems it just released an entire pandora's box of bugs instead. I accidentally got infinite money when leveling up one of my followers; taking money from my shrines (i no longer get devotion since I unlocked everything) made my game freeze; Anchordeep witness didn't drop the eye. Some of my followers are still stuck saying they can level up loyalty, but talking to them doesn't actually level them up. I also had a follower die, but apparently decided he didn't want to because he walked away from his own dead body. I was playing fine with the bugs of before, but with the amount of issues going on right now, I'm going to have to set the game down until it's playable again.
Wow... I bought the game because I thought that this build would make the game playable, but I had a hard time even accepting to create a cult for TOWW; then I can't even recruit the bunny who's standing in the portal circle...

What the heck?! Will we be able to play this weekend?!

Yep, GOG's QA, you can nuke this build out of existence.

Is the first build better?

You can still download the original 1.0.3 with the GOG offline file.
OK, but is it any good? I bought it today because I thought that was it and the game was better with the patch... It is not.

Nope. 1.0.8 seems to be the best version. Fixes soft lock issues with 1.0.3 but does not have the issues of 1.0.9 My friend finished the game with version 1.08 on Steam.

It was nice to finally get an upgraded shrine a tier 3 but now I can't get any new followers, the option shows up but when I click on it nothing happens the the option disappears with them just praying in the spot.

This is all getting really frustrating :(
I'm conflicted. One part of my brain feels bad for the developers, but the other part is just angry.

I just asked for a refund. I don't want developers to boast even more... They tweeted about selling 1 million games, they tweeted about being on national TV, they tweeted about going to Gamescom next week... But they barely tweet about support.

I feel sad for the developing team, but I'm also very angry about this whole situation...

I wish people would stop releasing broken games...
I look at it this way, It cost $30 on GOG. I got to play it, hated the bugs and performance, and got my money back just the same. It was highly frustrating yes, but no loss at all other than my time and a small hit to my hopes for the game's success. In the end, we get to see how incompetent Devolver is and how their mouths wrote a proverbial check with this game that their backsides couldn't cash. Truthfully, this seems to be a Daniel Mullins game with all the references to his characters. I don't trust this Mullins guy at all. lol
I just had a short chat with a representative on cultofthelamb.com and here' the answer I got:

"Thanks for reaching out, the team is working quickly to release a patch on GOG. Thank you for your patience"

Fingers crossed...
I also requested a refund.

In my experience, when it starts like this it is not a good sign.
They will not respect the release of updates in the future.

If I'm wrong, I'll buy the game back on sale.

I agree.

Also, first impressions matter.

Hello Games also have their own style of updating (I'm not talking about GOG), and I learned through the years that their style is not compatible with my expectations.

Hopefully Devolver and Massive Monster will improve.

Hi Clownski_

Sorry to bother, I would like to know if there will be an offline version of the game please? The game is still in version 1.0.

Thanking you in advance,

This is a response from the developer over at STEAM

Sippy: Hello, thank you for your feedback and time for playing the game! And, yes once the game comes out a lot of quirks and bumps the demo has will be ironed out!

Monzun: looks like this didn't work out ROFL.. just saw this thread here.. 2 months ago you wrote this and now the game is insanely stuttery, close to being unplayable.that beautiful stuttering every 10 seconds you managed to lower to every 4 seconds because more is better right :D additionally the game has massive stuttering in the camp due to so many aspects. its ridiculous.. looks like you totally failed here as you wanted to "iron out" the stuff but the game released with tons of huge and even gamebreaking bugs, softlocks etc. and additionally all that crazy stuttering and i'm not talking about that evry 4 second stutter but about the stuttering that happens when you have too many farming plots growing and you cook stuff etc. theres tons of problems and i'Ve documented them all in the forum here so i won't do it again but i just found it funny to read your comments from 2 months ago and had to answer because you basically did the opposite of what you said 2 months ago :D

edit: also i'm sorry, i don't want to give you ♥♥♥♥, BUT you more than deserve answers like mine considering how you released the game and handled it after release. you released the game completely broken in an unreleasable state if we are honest here.. this discussion board offers all the proof of all those dozens of gamebreaking bugs etc. that crazy stuttering on a simple 2d game, which is pretty pathetic considering how 99% of all other games are being released with miles higher quality these days :( and especially considering how you claimed stuff liek that a few months ago only to release the game completely unfinished and fundamentally broken.
but the game got 90% positive ratings on steam so i suppose i'm a "hater" now and everything i write is wrong and complete fantasy right :D

Sippy: Okay so, not sure what you would like me to say to all that. First of all this wont be a "youre wrong post" I can just give you some info from our side. For the stuttering I can say sorry about that (and I am), but im aware that wont do much, but we will try to fix the issue and get it in the best possible state, and yes I know I said that 2 months ago (I guess thats regarding the demo) and I will continue saying that as long as its needed because we will fix it. I wont pretend I know how coding works because I have no clue, but what I do know is that making games is not easy, and the team is giving their best to solve as many issues as possible as fast as possible, there will always be issues and bugs with every game it doesnt matter if its simple or not, the question is will you as a play encounter those issues, because a lot of players do not have issues with the game and play it without problems so we do not think that the game is completely broken and in an unreleasable state. Now, the players who encounter issues being it big or small, some are more understanding some are less and thats okay, everyone has their own opinion, and we respect that. Now do I think you are a hater? Not at all, you got the game and want a product in the best possible shape, that is totally normal. Do we deserve "♥♥♥♥ talk" well, thats a personal thing everyone needs to decide for themselves, but that wont make the bugs go away faster, that one I know for sure. In any case, thank you for the feedback and being a part of the community!

As you can see.......we have some issues. lol

AFAIK, the offline installer will install Cult of the Lamb Version 1.0.3. Earlier, GOG rejected Cult of the Lamb Version 1.0.10 because it was unplayable for many people including me. This is why there’s no new offline installer.

GOG (and I) are waiting for Devolver Digital and Massive Monster to provide a satisfactory patch.

@JoaoPaulaZA, you should put a link to the conversation. Here it is: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1313140/discussions/0/6117591958727338043

It’s not the first time I read comments from MONZUN... ...

The reply from Sippy was actually refreshing... Now... I would like SOMEONE from Devolver Digital to come to see us, and just say, “Hi!” (Although I understand that, with people like MONZUN, community managers might be afraid to engage with some of us here too.)
