In a conquered territory, the AI has built lots of mills and there are wheat fields all over the place. Now, even with the mills gone, the fields remain, and I cannot build on top of them. Not only do they hog a lot of strategic space, they are damned unsightly. Even after more than an hour's worth of harvesting with 50 peasants on a single wheat field, however, it has not diminished at all. What gives?

Gilmaris:
You cannot remove them and that is it.

This is if we are talking about the original anthology as I have little to no experience with C II and C 3.

Well, that sucks. I had a suspicion that might be the case. The funny thing is that when you first do build a mill, that field will deplete if you have 15-20 peasants working on it. They re-sow empty patches, but fields do deplete. And there's even a tech to improve field capacity (which does not result in more patches of wheat).

But conquer someone else's farms, and you're stuck with them, apparently.
