I tryed to reinstall, but it still says that dvm.dll is missing and i cant lunch the game...
I cant find this file on internet, pls help....

Disable your AV. Reinstall. ;)

Unless you create an exception for the file, your AV will probably just remove it again when it is reactivated. :(

Let's hope GOG can create a workaround....

Did you reactivate you AV after installation? If so, don't do it yet. You need to create an exception for dvm.dll (located at your_install_directory_drive_whatever\The Chronicles of Riddick - Assault on Dark Athena\System\Win32_x86) so your AV won't delete it.

I dunno if its just me or what ... but I have done everything Mcaffee says to do to exclude this file from both custom AND scheduled scans .... It will install properly but when I attempt to run it afterwards it STILL removes the dvm.dll ...... Happy to hear any suggestions but at this point im too frustrated soooo just going to come at it fresh in the morning

ONE NOTE however regarding the antivirus situation ... IF you don't set an EXCEPTION for that .dll file ... next time you run a scan OR defrag ... It will be quarantined again ... Found that out when I ran a defrag while cleaning my machine

My Mocrosoft AV says it is the obsufcator virus inh dvm.dll- so why anyone would want to ask us to disbale our ANti-virus to let this virus run I do not know.

We need an OFFICIAL GOG person to explain the FACTS.

Do not run this package by making an exception until they have cleared it up.

Sadly enough Gog is actually known to release games with scene content; they actually (and sadly) release games, and say they are without DRM. How is the DRM removed? The sell their games with cracks from various release groups. They ask you to ignore virus warning with several games, and the truth is: They themselve can actually not know if those cracks are actually "clean".

Please do not mark this as solved. The solution provided is a *workaround*. The actual issue that gives rise to this has not been solved. I agree with gibber here, we need a reaction from GOG itself to truly resolve this.
I don't trust TAGES and I don't want any part of it on my system, whether disabled or not.

Guess I should have used an edit but heres an update for any Mcaffee users out there having this issue ... At present , there is NO WAY to create an exception like this in a Real Time Scan , the only way to play this game is to disable real time scans and install..... Sooo if you want to keep re-installing and turning off real time everytime you boot up thats it until theres a solution found , personally , I think GoG should either fix this themselves or start refunding some money , speaking only for myself i have spent a LOT of money with GoG and a little appreciation showing is in order here ...Cmon GoG help us out here

This seems more like an antivirus issue than a GoG issue. The dvm.dll does not contain a virus, yet the AV is claiming it is. If your AV is going to do this, and not support a whitelist of files you know are good, then I'd suggest switching AV providers.

They could actually know, if the will, in the exact same way the original guy patched the code to make the crack... step into the code with a debugger/disassembler and trace the calls.

...or simply use tools like Process Monitor, as it doesn't really matter what's going on inside darkathena.exe and dvm.dll.
