Hello,

Thanks to the information you all provided, we were able to find the cause of this bug: it is a corrupted asset bundle that cannot be loaded.
We will quickly make the necessary corrections and release a patch to permanently fix the issue.

IN THE MEANTIME, you can fix the issue right now without waiting for the patch by following these instructions:

- Download www.rundisc.io/download/d03_labyrinthe_instrument.zip and UNZIP IT to get the d03_labyrinthe_instrument file.
- Place it in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Chants of Sennaar\Chants Of Sennaar_Data\StreamingAssets\
- This file will replace the current corrupted version.
- Restart the game.

NB: The path to the StreamingAssets folder may be slightly different for you if you did not choose the default location during installation. In this case, you will need to adapt the path I just provided.

Everything should now be working properly.

As mentioned above, we will be releasing a patch to resolve this issue shortly.

Thank you again to everyone for your help. The details, logs, and saves you sent us enabled us to identify the problem very quickly.

Hey, unfortunately on my end this does not fix it. Once I load the game (in the bard's labyrinth), the character enters the room and gets stuck in a walking cycle. I cannot interact with anything and need to Alt+F4 out of the game.

Hi,

Thank you for the quick turnaround on this issue, the support is much appreciated.

The downloadable file does not work for me though. I dropped the file into the StreamingAssets folder, overwriting the previous version. Now when I load my save, the player character walks into the room with the saws, and just keeps walking in place, and I cannot do anything.

Looking at the player.log, I noticed this line:
Failed to decompress data for the AssetBundle 'StreamingAssets\d03_labyrinthe_instrument'.

Followed by a bunch of NullReferenceExceptions:
NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Is anyone experiencing the same with the new file?
Same here, I sent the logs as well.
Ok, so it seems not to be working...
We'll continue searching for a quick solution.

We'll keep you up to date asap.

Ok, please try this :

- Download www.rundisc.io/download/d03_labyrinthe_instrument.zip and UNZIP IT to get the d03_labyrinthe_instrument file.
- Replace the old file with this new one.

Does it work?

I am apparently lucky - the updated file seems to fix the issue for me. I was able to move to the next screen and leave the tunnel, but I haven't gone any further than that.

For those having trouble downloading the file, the full path is: https://www.rundisc.io/download/d03_labyrinthe_instrument.zip

Edit: woops, looks like others beat me to it while I was testing/typing my message. Also let me add my thanks to the quick response from the devs!

It worked for me with the .zip you provided. Already jumped to the next section.

I'm sorry the solution doesn't work for the others.

Thank you for your work and patience!
It's fixed for me too with the new download - thank you very much! :)
It works for me with the .zip (I didn't try the other one).
Thanks a lot for the reactivity (and the good game !)

ThomasRundisc: Nice!
Hopefully you can patch this eventually!

Thanks for giving us a workaround but may I ask something? this bug was fixed on the Steam version over a year ago, why is the GOG version encountering this issue?

Also sorry you had to find people asking for the issue to get fixed on Steam, most people go to where the devs are and usually most devs are more responsive on Steam than here.

It seems the package was corrupted when or before it was put online.
