I recently bought Broken Sword the Director's Cut + The original game. The original ran fine, got through the opening. But when i tried to save, it brought me back to the desktop, and it shut down the game. I have no idea how to save, clicking "Restore" at the main menu also shuts it down.

And now, I can't install the Director's Cut. It gives me the error shown in the image. I ran it in administrator, and still got the same issue. Please help, I'm running windows 7 home premium 64-bit.

Thanks for replying. Sadly, it still gives me that same error, when i tried to install it in a different location.
For the crash on save with the original BS1, check this post.

Regarding the Director's Cut install issue, try to install by right clicking on the installer and choosing 'Run as Admin'. Make sure your AV and UAC are not getting in the way of the install process.
You could also try to redownload the installer in case that one is damaged somehow.

It says I don't have the access to edit the .ini of the original broken sword. And the advice for the director's cut doesn't work.
Cut the .ini file, paste it on your desktop, edit it there, save it and then put in back in the game folder. That should take care of the acess problem you're having with it.

The simplest solution for this is to run the game through the ScummVM UI located in your game directory.
