I tested this patch from Dege for about 20 minutes with 1920x1080 and past the first levels without a single ClientMFC crash.
I'm playing with "dgvoodoo 2 for directx 11" (look the opening post of the following link). Don't know if playing with pure GOG version make difference. PLEASE TEST AND REPORT YOUR EXPERIENCE.

Thanks Dege! You're awsome.

For a better experience, combine dg´s patch with dgvoodo 2 wrapper at http://dege.freeweb.hu/

I think I'll rebuy Blood 2 now :)
I can also confirm that this patch works like a charm. Running Win7 64 with a dx11 card.
Sorry to say but this patch did jackshit for me. Sure, I can play on higher res now but the game lags. Like, alot.
Also, once you set up your res all the other buttons except the startbutton stops working for no reason whatsoever.

I'm not blaming Dege. It's not his fault Monolith fucked it up.
I suggest combining both dege´s Blood 2 patch with dgvoodoo 2 wrapper from the same site. It' s required a DX10.1 video card at least and the results are way better. To me no lags just an occasional crash. (Blood 2 isn't perfect anyway).

I don't get how to set up dgVoodoo 2. Do I just put it in the Blood 2's folder?

EDIT: Sigh, fuck this game. How could I be so stupid to believe there was a fix for it...

In the dgVoodoo2.zip file, there are two folders, MS and 3Dfx. In the MS folder there are two .dll files, D3Dlmm.dll and DDraw.dll. Extract these files to your Blood2 installation folder, be sure they are in the same directory as your Blood2 exe files.

By default there is a water mark that will show up in game (which will indicate if the wrapper dlls are installed properly). If you want to get rid of that, also extract the dgVoodooSetup.exe program to your Blood2 folder. Execute dgVoodooSetup and un-check the "Watermark" option in the DirectX tab.

IIRC that's all I had to do to get it working for me.

Note that Norton and TrendMicro antivirus programs have flagged these files to have virus issues, but Dege has assured us on the Vogons forums that these are false positives.
The D3Dlmm.dll and DDraw.dll files don't match any of the official MS hashes, so they get flagged for that
dgVoodooSetup.exe has code in it that allows it to modify the aforementioned dll files, so it gets flagged for that.

Did as you said, game CTD as soon as I chose a new game within the game menu.

Sorry, I reinstalled Blood2 just to be sure it was working as expected. After copying the DLLs to the Blood2 folder, I launched Blood2.exe which brings up that launcher app with the different configureation options. Click the Display button and choose dgVoodoo DirectX Wrapper for the LithTech Direct3D Renderer.

I don't have the hi-rez stuff installed, I just wanted to get be sure Blood2 showed up with the watermark to ensure that it was using the wrapper.

I knew I was forgetting something.
EDIT: When I did that, the game became a tiny little square on the screen and I could see my browser and everything else around it. The game was running but way too small to be played.

Same here. Small window at the center, can't do anything with it. HD Graphics 5300.
And I found a way to run it properly... just need to force resolution in dgVoodoo config app. Now it's dandy.
