It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

IronArcturus: Yeah I already tried that. The game then starts to complain about other missing DLL's. This is why we need the whole package SDK or whatever to fix this problem. This is not just a one file problem.
There is no DirectX Input version 1.4 for Windows 7. You can try to find a wrapper that will work with Armada or upgrade Windows to newer version (or run Armada on Linux using WINE).

I think Armada started to use newer version on dinput when they introduced cooperation mode (comunication is handled by that protocol).

Well it clearly states on the GOG game card that the game is compatible with Win7. That means GOG needs to figure out a way to make it work for Win7.
Or just take the plunge and upgrade to windows 10 (windows 10 is even better then 7)

The start menu is Better as you can stack your game executables shortcuts inside a FOLDER inside windows 10's start menu for quick access win 7 doesn't have that they call it pinning lolwagons it's like having a desktop INSIDE a desktop

Yeah, having this problem with win7 and BFG1, too. Already opened a ticket, but did not get a response.

Opened a ticket too.....
Be sure to send in a GOG Support ticket so know they that multiple people with Windows 7 are unable to play the game.
Has anyone else seen this website that mentions the same issue:
https://forums.braceyourselfgames.com/t/please-read-windows-7-users/1364

It looks like this is a problem with the Unreal game engine. GOG must have updated the engine to a non-Win7 version and that's why it's not working. GOG needs to revert back to the older engine so Win7 users can play the game.

GOG is distributor, not the developer. If you want Armada to be compatible with W7, complain to Tindalos.

GOG previously included unofficial patches and fixes to solve compatibility problems, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Well many bought the game because it said on GOG it was compatible with Win7. If GOG can't get it to work on Win7 I'm sure many will want a refund since the game doesn't work.
So has anyone been able to get this game to work on Win7?

You can use this all-in-1 installer to install all the missing libraries:
https://tinyurl.com/nwvexuv

Or you can use Qemu
https://www.qemu.org/
To install a Linux distribution of your choice and run Armada through WINE

/edit This sollution didn't fix my xinput1_4.dll error. So what now ? Refund ?

Got an answer from support, untried so far, but post it anyway..maybe it will work on another pc, if things go south on my machine.
Hallo,

Vielen Dank für die Kontaktaufnahme. =)

1) Bitte installiere beide Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable Pakete erneut:

x64: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=746572
x86: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=746571

https://download.microsoft.com/download/8/4/A/84A35BF1-DAFE-4AE8-82AF-AD2AE20B6B14/directx_Jun2010_redist.exe

https://support.microsoft.com/de-de/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

Be sure to tell GOG Support that the game still doesn't work.

To be realistic, i think they won't be able to get the game running under win7 anymore.
I'll get it refunded.
