Bomber1984: I just started playing BGEE again after a long time (I was playing the BG original version) and I remember that when I ordered a wizard to attack an enemy, he did it with his weapon supplied, in this version I don't understand why when I attack in groups does my wizard cast spells without being ordered to do so?

TrollumThinks: Did you turn on AI? (it's not necessarily the best option mind you) - you can set it to 'aggressive' or 'defensive' or something (I forget the names as I never use it - prefer to give orders to all my characters manually).

If you turn off AI, the wizard will attack with weapons when told to attack (and if not told will stand there idle)

greyhuntr: Go to the character screen and click customize. You can change their AI behaviors there. Custom AI has a checklist of options including combat preference, item use, ability use, and spell use.

Additionally you can turn AI behavior on or off for your entire party by clicking the lantern button in the lower right. It is by the pause and party select buttons.
