I know that when you slide it to the left the game is easier and when you slide it to the right the game is harder, but I do not know what exactly it changes it makes in the game.

So, what game's features the slider changes to make it either easier or harder to play?

Thanks!

bg1 doesn't list those huh? I forgot about that. I don't know if anyone knows. These are the settings from BG2. BG1 also mentions that difficulties below "normal" will result in a penalty to XP.

Insane: All monsters do double damage.

Hard: All monsters do 50% more damage.

Core Rules: Standard D&D rules - HP is random, you can fail to learn spells, you can get gibbed (no resurrection), monsters do 100% damage

Normal: All hit point rolls are maximum, characters cannot permanently die, all spells are automatically learned, monsters do three quarters damage

Novice: Same as normal, but the monsters do just 50% damage.

There is still friendly fire no matter what difficulty you set BG2 on, FYI.

Whoops, a little NWN ruleset snuck in.
